Area: AB Processing

Use a separate sheet for each of the following required activities (no. 1-4).

1. In your practical understanding, describe the process flow of grains’ quality assurance activities
during procurement, drying, storage, distribution, and milling. Mention the key personnel
involved in each process. You may use process flow charts and discuss them. Use your creativity
to present the process properly and briefly, in a way that it will help new employees to understand
said process better.

2. Prepare a process flow chart for the 1) calibration of moisture meters 2) mechanical platform
scale. Provide a brief description for each process.

3. Prepare a pesticides requirement for “ABE Grains Center” with the following data and
assumptions.

Forecasted stocks in “ABE Grains Center” for 2022.

4. Think of how you can improve the different operations that you’ve learned by introducing
a technology. You may re-design to improve the current processes. (Just select one
operation, e.g. calibration of moisture meter, milling of palay, pest monitoring/control,
etc.)

• Introduce the new process/technology (e.g. introducing technology xyz to improve speed in
procurement)
• Identify the benefits (e.g. more farmers will be served)
• Identify the barriers/challenges and recommend ways to overcome them
