Industry’s “Instructional Design” provides instructional designers with models, theories,

trends, pitfalls, and anything we need to know, written from their experts. It’s a wealth of

information from those that are in this industry succeeding already and offers information

about adaptive strategies.

attention since she spells her name like I do, and her site offers her creative combination

of storytelling and technology to create engaging learning experiences for instructional

designers including posts about adaptive learning strategies.

9. https://www.ispringsolutions.com/blog/id This site was interesting, first, because it is a

site located in Virginia and is pretty local to me, and then because it had this very

enticing collection of tabs with a lot of very interesting and helpful articles.

https://www.ispringsolutions.com/blog/how-to-create-microlearning-courses discusses

how to create microlearning courses using adaptive learning.

10. https://www.shiftelearning.com/en/ai This site just seemed interesting and inviting as I

reviewed the home page. The link above discusses AI and leveraging interactive content

and the site offers best practices, tips, and inspiration for corporate training, instructional

design, and eLearning.

Online resource pages:

11. https://www.easygenerator.com This site offers a free trial to allow new instructional
designers to create templates for storyboards, use a pre-designed one, and it shows how to
add audio and video and offers easily created courses. The courses I design are
compatible with over 200 Learning Management Systems allowing me to utilize adaptive
learning strategies.

12. https://www.educause.edu/ This site offers a way to make connections, make informed

Apps:

14. Figma This site is a cloud-based design software used by instructional designers and
provides all the tools I need for the design phase of a project, including vector tools,
prototyping capabilities, and code generation. Another reason I looked is because the
starter pricing plan for individuals is free.

15. Imgflip is a free software tool that helps to make static visual design come alive with
movement and humor. I can make animated GIFs from video files, YouTube, and
pictures to provide adaptive strategies training modules.

16. https://360learning.com/collaborative-learning-movement/ This site provided a lot of

key information on collaborative learning.

17. https://freckle.com/en-us/ I thought this was the cutest website and it offers
differentiated, engaging, effective student-centered, teacher driven lessons.
Extra apps that I found in my research and wanted to share them:
 Vectornator is a free graphic design and illustration app for iOS and macOS devices.
Use it to create layout mockups, prototypes, branding elements, vector graphics, and
custom typography.
 Paint.NET This is a free image and photo editing software for Microsoft Windows. It
has an intuitive user interface and a minimum set of features needed for an instructional
designer. It includes simple tools for drawing shapes, a lot of special effects, support for
layers, and much more.
 Unsplash gives me free access to thousands of free stock photos with a Creative
Commons Zero license.

 Flaticon is the largest resource of free icons available in PNG, SVG, EPS, PSD, and
BASE 64 formats. It includes 1,649,000 vector icons and I can edit their size, position
and colors.

 Google Fonts is a library of 915 free libre licensed fonts. All fonts are released under
open-source licenses, so they’re allowed for both personal and commercial use.

 Free Cam is a free, simple screen recorder for Windows. It provides a full set of features
for creating professional video lessons such as selecting a recording area, recording a
voice over and system sounds, and highlighting the mouse cursor. I can save screencasts
on my desktop or share them on YouTube.

 Hemingway is a free, online editing tool for making writing bold and clear. It checks the

text for readability and helps to find complex sentences and phrases, excessive adverbs,

and passive voice constructions that I can turn into active voice recordings.
