Detailed Purpose of the Project


Please describe the intended purpose of the project, in correlation with your communication with
stakeholders. This purpose statement should constitute a paragraph of at least three sentences
describing the “Why” behind this endeavor.

Detailed Purpose of the Project (30 The purpose of this project is to create a professional,
points) dependable shared resource warehouse of documents,
training materials and videos to allow admins to properly
perform their functions and duties with excellence. As
new admins are hired, they can utilize this resource to
confidently obtain accurate knowledge of their role
within HBU.

points total) site to house all admin training documents and videos for
training purposes.

documents and videos based on feedback from current
administrative staff to encompass daily tasks and
processes.

audience for the documents maintained in this resource
to facilitate more unity and accuracy in a master storage
capacity.

documents and responsible owners for a master calendar
of meetings, due dates, and deadlines.

to house important data such as accounting
processes/check requests and expense reports, and to

Creating a professional, dependable shared resource warehouse of documents, training materials

and videos to allow admins to properly perform their functions and duties with excellence will

include many strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. How we adapt to each SWOT

subject identified will project the outcomes that may impact the successfulness of the finished

project.

Current Project 1. The project has full support of department leadership to create an

2. The current admins have a wealth of knowledge and experience

and they have provided several documents and processes that can

be incorporated into the new shared tool.

3. Communication between departments has steadily increased to

allow campus and online staff to collaborate and offer their expertise

to this project.

Current Project 1. Two admins have left recently so the need for a more robust

experience has been difficult to schedule.

3. Having adequate time to complete each task has been a risk for

project completion, given staff vacations, other escalated

important projects, and loss or change in staffing members.

Anticipated Project 1. The project offers a new way to share and store master

Opportunities documents and training videos that the entire HBU Staff can utilize.

2. The project requires expertise in SharePoint so the learning

involved will be utilized for other post-projects.

3. Communication between departments will vastly improve with

the shared instruments that each department requires.

Anticipated Project 1. The fall term class start date is within weeks of the due date of

prepare for incoming students.

2. Continued loss of staff or vacation summer scheduling will

impede the process of developing videos and documentation on a

timely basis.

3. With the new academic year, a lot of changes to current

documents and the academic catalog policies have been made but

may not have been shared yet with the required parties.
