Announcements for Graduation Ceremony- Class of 2011 (June 25, 2011)

The class of 2011 is days away from graduating. The commencement has been planned for June 25, 2011. This will indeed be a memorable day for all the graduating students, their families and friends. The commencement is officiated by the Universitys Chancellor and recognizes all 2011 graduates of The University of Northern Virginia. In order to celebrate this momentous day, you are requested to read the following announcements and adhere to the given instructions. Date, Time and Venue The ceremony will be held on June 25, 2011 from 8:30am to 2:00pm at Westfields Marriott Washington Dulles 14750 Conference Center Drive Chantilly, VA 20151 USA. (Directions to the venue are given on the next page)

Important Timings and Instructions Graduates must report at Westfields Marriott between 8:30am-10:00am to receive caps and gowns. Doors of the ceremony hall will open for the guests, friends and families at 10:00am.

All guests must be seated by 10:30am. The graduation ceremony will commence at 10:50am. The ceremony will be followed by a complimentary reception with light refreshments outside the ceremony hall at 1:00pm. Professional photographer and video-taping crew will be available during the ceremony. Photos can be ordered via UNVA website after the ceremony; a complimentary DVD of the ceremony will be available to all graduates who fill out the Video Mail-Out Form. Do not bring personal items, purses or valuables with you into the auditorium. There will be no security to protect them from theft. Complimentary self parking will be available at Westfields Marriott. (Optional Valet parking also available at $12.00 per day). As a courtesy and respect to the speakers and other graduates, please ask yourself and your guests to refrain from making noises during the speeches. Diplomas and Class Rings Diplomas and Class Rings will not be available during the graduation ceremony. They will be ready for pick up at the Annandale office one week after commencement. UNVA prefers that graduates pick up these items in person. If you are unable to do so, you may have someone else pick it up on your behalf. That person must present their photo ID and a written authorization signed by the graduate. From Washington DC: Interstate 66 West to Virginia Exit 53B, Route 28 North Dulles Airport North on Route 28, two miles to Westfields Boulevard. From the Dulles Airport Toll Road: Dulles Toll Road Local Lanes ($1.25 toll) to exit 9A ($0.75 toll to exit) to route 28 South/Sully Road-Centreville. Follow Route 28 South/Sully Road for seven miles to Westfields Boulevard. Take ramp for Westfields Boulevard West, stay in the right lane before the intersection at Stonecroft Boulevard.
