Telstream Telecoms offers its satellite solutions on a number of different iDirect platforms and satellites covering the whole African continent. Whether you require a high speed dedicated connection or a shared connection, we have a satellite solution for you. The shared Satellite Internet package is the ideal solution for companies wanting high quality connectivity at a competitive price. Are you a business who wants a reliable and cost-effective alternative to voice and data communications? Telstream's satellite internet solution gives you a shared solution with guaranteed bandwidth. This Satellite Internet product is unique not only for its competitive price and fast connections, but also because it offers guaranteed bandwidth. As opposed to the 'fair use' or 'expected bandwidth', our shared packages offer customers guaranteed bandwidth as defined in their service level agreement.

Uncapped Data
As a customer, you select your minimum bandwidth in advance by choosing one of our subscription plans. Available additional bandwidth is allocated dynamically to the connection's users.

We can offer bandwidth ranging from 64 kbps to 4 Megabits per second. All services are uncapped i.e. there is no limit to the amount of data you may send or receive.

Guaranteed minimum speeds

Our shared satellite internet packages are divided into maximum burstable up and down bandwidth, e.g. 256/512 Kbps, with each package having an associated Committed Information Rate (CIR)*. The contention ratio dictates the CIR. *CIR is the amount of guaranteed bandwidth associated with a package, and is critical when running applications such as VOIP (Voice over IP) which requires a guaranteed up/down bandwidth of 25 Kbps. A client using VOIP would have to start with a bandwidth of 256/256 kbps on a 10:1 contention (CIR of 25/25 kbps).
