Online Safety Tips for Parents & Kids #5: Talk to your children about never, for any reason, agreeing to meet someone face to face that they met online. This could potentially be very dangerous. You simply just dont know who you are talking to online. Over the course of two years, MySpace removed 90,000 known registered sex offenders off it website. THOUGHTS ON THE WAY UP MOUNT CARMEL This is a season of transitions for many of us. Next Sunday is Pentecost and the liturgical conclusion of the Easter Season. The Graduation Season continues with our Kindergarten graduating last Wednesday and our Eighth grade this past Friday. Fr. Beal has returned to his teaching duties at Catholic University for Summer School and Jason has returned for this past week and this coming week before his Ordination this Friday. And, summer has arrived with its sunny days and warm temperatures. Somehow, I missed Spring altogether. I dont know where it went! Our parish school picnic is this Thursday, and you are all invited to join Jason and me on the Ravine Flyer! This summer, with the help of a rebate from First Energy, we will be doing a major lighting project in our parish school. With the help of volunteers, we will be replacing all the fluorescent bulbs and mechanical ballasts in our classrooms, hallways, kitchen and offices. We will also be replacing all the bulbs in Scheffner Hall. This will result in a significant saving in wattage used and on our electrical bill. We will also be doing cement work on the school entrances and repaving portions of our parking lot. Please be patient with some of the inconvenience this will cause in parking and access to our church and parish school buildings. I am sorry to say that the church lighting project will be delayed a few weeks. What I thought was a shipping date for our new fixture interiors was actually a date to begin manufacture of the internal electrical parts for our lights. The actual shipping date is June 13. We now hope to be finished in church by the end of June. When Fr. Beal returns to Mount Carmel in the middle of July, I am considering adding a second daily Mass for the duration of his time with us. Many of you know that our requests for Mass intentions have been rising. This is a credit to the faith of our parishioners, the prayerful remembrance of our beloved dead, and the love of the Eucharist evident in our parish. But, it also means that many have to wait weeks and often more for an opening for even one Mass. This addition would not shorten the waiting time for weekend Mass openings, but would allow us to offer the Eucharist for our parishioners, relatives and friends for those who choose a daily Mass. I ask you to consider what time would be preferred by those who request Masses and attend, or would attend, our daily Masses. There are only two restraints I must impose: 8:00 or its vicinity would not be available since I spend about an hour with the children at our parish school every morning; Noon or its vicinity would not be available since funerals would interfere whenever they occur. Please think about a good time and let me know what you would like best. Well, join me in welcoming summers arrival, congratulations to all our graduates and have a great first week of June! Fr Ray

A FAMILY PERSPECTIVE As Jesus appointed disciples, he also appoints parents to represent Him in the family; Make disciples of your children, baptizing and teaching them all I have taught you. Dont worry, I am with you always.
