Superalloys

Superalloys can be able to withstand high temperatures and oxidizing atmospheres for
long time periods. It has the ability to operate at a high fraction of its melting point. It shows
excellent mechanical strength and creep resistance at high temperatures, good surface stability,
and corrosion and oxidation resistance. Superalloys are classified under three major categories,
such as nickel base, cobalt base, and iron base. It used in aerospace, marine turbine engines,
chemical processing industry, industrial gas turbines, and also in nuclear reactors

Noble metals
Noble metals are a group of metals that are resistant to oxidation and corrosion when
exposed to air. They are the opposite of base metals, which more readily oxidize and corrode.
Some examples of noble metals are gold, platinum, ruthenium, rhodium, palladium, silver,
iridium and rhenium. Noble metals are well known for their catalytic properties and associated
capacity to facilitate or control the rates of chemical reactions. These are used in jewellery,
electrical appliances, making protective coatings, as catalysts and medicine.
