METHODOLOGY FOR THE WATER PROOFING OF TERRACE

Surface Preparation:

Before commence of terrace water proofing, the surface and side walls should be well
prepared that chipping should be done properly. The surface should be prepared by removing
all existing plaster, stucco, loose particles, residual paint, oil, rust, dust, and other impurities.
If there is any construction joint, wall and slab junction should be raked, cleaned and grouted.

Pressure Grouting;

Wherever necessary pressure grouting should be done. Drilling 8mm dia holes with electrical
drilling machine along the construction joints or honeycomb areas (at every lm c/c along
construction joints in grid pattern) to a depth of 25mm and fixing PVC nozzle of 8mm dia in
place using quick setting compound Renderoc plug. Pressure grouting using hand operated
pressure grouting pump with a pressure with FOSROC CEBEX 100 added in the cement
slurry through the nozzles by starting from one nozzle and stopping when the grout starts
coming out from adjacent nozzle.

Coving:

All the horizontal and vertical junctions are chamfered with cement mortar admixed with
CONPLAST WL Xtra at 125 ml/50kg bag of cement. Providing a BRUSHBOND RFX coat
over it.

Application of Chemical Coating:

 Providing and applying one coat of FOSROC BRUSHBOND RFX acrylic polymer
cementicious coating over well prepared surface as a primer in the proportion of l:l:3
(Nit bond BBX, water & Fosroc RFX powder). The second coat of brush bond RFX
shall be applied as soon as the first coat has reached touch dry state.
  Before Apply Brushbond RFX ZYKO Primer should be applied
 The top surface should be laid with screed concrete 1:2:3 (1 Cement:Crushed sand:
12mm aggregate) 75mm thick mixed with 125ml of CONPLAST WL Xtra per bag of
cement. Laid in panels not exceeding 20 Sqmtrs, in plan with 6mm x 6mm groove
with 60mm x 600mm square panels filled.
 Curing should be done continuously for two days.
Curing:

The surface which is applied on the surface should be cured for a minimum period of seven
days.
Safety:

During complete process, the workers will be provided with all required PPE's like, Safety
shoes, Helmets, Hand glows etc
