1. What should be the first step in the process of selecting an ERP vendor?
- Listing some vendors that will help you shape your business requirements. This is the
process where it is helpful for companies moving from aging legacy systems and technology
to current and state of the art technology
2. Describe three different factors that should be researched when examining potential ERP
vendors.
- Vendor’s development and maintenance resource – This is a factor where it requires more
exploration. Having an ERP vendor that plans the development and the maintenance of the
resources is great.
- Vendor’s release and upgrade strategies – potential ERP vendors have different release
strategies that which determine content of new system fixes and upgrades strategies
- Vendor’s financial Position – having financially supported is a lot and very useful on
examining ERP vendors. This factor includes sales revenues, profits, growth, research and
development.
3. What is a release strategy?
- Release strategy is an important factor in choosing ERP vendors because it describes minor
upgrades, releases of software’s and any fixes. It should have fixes timely and minor
upgrades included, timing for major releases and defined upgrade paths
