 Nippon Life India Asset Management Limited (NAM India), the asset manager of Nippon India

 India’s 1st index of cryptocurrencies named ‘IC15’ was launched by CryptoWire to empower

 Torus Kling Blockchain IFSC signed a MoU with India INX to launch the first Bitcoin and Ethereum
Futures exchange traded funds (ETFs) in India.
 Pencilton in partnership with Transcorp has launched PencilCard, India’s 1st debit card with
National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) for teens.
 Paytm Money has launched India’s first intelligent messenger named ‘’Pop’’ to provide instant

 As per the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) data on ‘Sectoral Deployment of Bank Credit – December 2021’ the
bank’s non-food credit registered a growth of 9.3 percent (on a year-on-year (y-o-y) basis) in
December 2021 as compared to 6.6 percent in December 2020.
 Government of India (GOI) has done a conversion switch transaction of its securities with the RBI on
January 28, 2022 for an amount of Rs. 1,19,701 crore (face value).
 The overseas borrowings of Indian companies stood at USD 23.28 billion in the first 3 quarters of the
FY22 (April, 2021 -December, 2021) as against USD 19.53 billion during FY21 (April-December, 2020) and
had jumped over 19 percent in the first nine months of the current fiscal (9MFY22) as per the Reserve Bank
of India (RBI).
 RBI released the sixth bi-monthly monetary policy statement for FY22 (April 2021 – March 2022).
• India’s real gross domestic product (GDP) growth projection for FY23 is projected at 7.8 percent with
17.2 percent at Q1.

 Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on considering the present liquidity position of Deccan Urban Co-operative
Bank Ltd., has imposed a withdrawal cap of Rs 1,000 on the customers of the bank.
 RBI approved Fino Payments Bank for commencing international remittance business under the Money
Transfer Service Scheme (MTSS).
 India’s Current Account Deficit (CAD) was USD 9.6 billion or 1.3% of GDP (Gross Domestic Product) in
accordance with the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) Balance of Payments (BoP) data for July-September 2021
(Q2FY22).
 RBI issued a framework for facilitating small-value digital payments in offline mode to push digital
transactions in rural and semi-urban areas with total limit of offline payment transaction Rs 2,000 at any
point in time and upper limit is at Rs 200.
 RBI granted second schedule payment bank status to Airtel Payments Bank under RBI Act, 1934 and
became the 4th Payment Bank to receive this status.
 RBI introduced the market-making scheme to promote retail participation in Government Securities (G-
Secs) by providing prices/quotes to Retail Direct Gilt Account Holders (RDGAHs) enabling them to buy/sell

 RBI announced that State Bank of India (SBI), Industrial Credit and Investment Corporation of India(ICICI)
and Housing Development Finance Corporation Limited(HDFC) banks will continue to be identified as
Domestic Systemically Important Banks (D-SIBs).
 RBI released the eligibility criteria for entities to be categorised as ‘Specified User’ of Credit
Information Companies (CICs) under clause (j) of Regulation 3 of the CICs (Amendment) Regulations, 2021.
 RBI increased the threshold limit for Banks to maintain the Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR) on
deposits and other ‘extension of funds’ received from non-financial small business customers from Rs 5
crore to Rs 7.5 crore.
 RBI sets up a separate internal department for fintech (Financial technology) by subsuming the
fintech division of DPSS (department of payment and settlement systems), Central Office (CO). to facilitate
innovation headed by Ajay Kumar Choudhary.
 RBI extended the validity of its directions by 4 months for Sri Guru Raghavendra Sahakara Bank Niyamitha,
Bengaluru (Karnataka) i.e. till May 10, 2022.
 RBI released the Annual Report of the Ombudsman Schemes for 2020-21(July 1, 2020, to March 31,
2021), stated that the volume of complaints received under all the 3 Ombudsman Schemes increased by

digital payments increased by 39.64 percent to 304.06 as against 217.74 in September 2020.

Investment and Credit Companies (NBFC-ICCs) with asset size of Rs 1,000 crore and above to undertake
factoring business.

 RBI cancelled the licence of Mantha Urban Cooperative Bank Ltd., Mantha, District Jalna,
Maharashtra w.e.f. February 16, 2022 to safeguard the interests of its depositors.
 RBI canceled the certificate of registration (CoR) issued to PC Financial Services Private Limited,
Delhi due to increase in complaints against usurious rate of interest and unfair recovery practices being
followed by several digital lenders.

 State Bank of India (SBI) partnered with NSE Academy to launch five online courses to promote
financial literacy courses through NSE Knowledge Hub platform, an online Massive Open Online
Courses (MOOCs) platform.
 Mastercard along with SBI Payments partnered with the Auto Rickshaw Association in Lucknow,
Uttar Pradesh, All Assam’s Restaurant Association (AARA) in Guwahati, Assam, local shopkeepers, and
Boat Union in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh to boost the digital payments infrastructure.

 SBI (State Bank of India) Cards and Payment Services Limited (SBICPSL) collaborated with
Paytm to enable their cardholders to tokenize their cards on devices and make payments through
Paytm.
 State Bank of India (SBI) listed its 1st USD 300 million Formosa bonds on India International

Circuit of Swadesh Darshan Scheme & This Dham has been included under the PRASHAD Scheme

 Pradhan Mantri Kisan SAMPADA Yojana (PMKSY), a flagship scheme of the Ministry of Food

 Continuation of the Modernisation of Police Forces (MPF) scheme for 5 years from 2021-22 to
2025-26 with the financial outlay of Rs 26,275 crores was approved by Government of India (GoI).

with an expenditure of 12,929.16 crore rupees was approved to support around 1,600 projects
 Government has successfully entered into the 7th year of implementing Pradhan Mantri

 21st February 2022 marked the 6th anniversary of the launch of the Shyama Prasad

 A new species of bent-toed gecko from a Umroi Military Station in Meghalaya was discovered. Its
scientific name is Cyrtodactylus Exercitus (in Latin ‘exercitus’ means army) and its English name is
‘Indian Army’s bent-toed gecko’.
 Researchers discovered another new frog species named Euphlyctis Jaladhara commonly known
as “Jaladhara skittering frog” from the freshwater bodies of the western coastal plains of India.
