What are the main tasks of universities : to offer students knowledge and skills essential for their career,

or to provide students with access to knowledge itself? What do you think university education should
maintain?

Universities have existed for long time to meet the demand of higher education among people.
However, there are two sides of opinion about the university’s function: to supply students with
academic knowledge and skills for their future job fields, or to provide students with approach to
insights. From my point of view, universities should appreciate their arming academic skills to their
students’ job.

In many educations, the knowledge is always considered as indispensable. Firstly, knowledge gives
students with premilinary understanding of outer world. Many educations in the world have its
textbooks written the basic knowledge of natural and human being environment, therefore, students
would make out characteristics and typical features for classifying. Secondly, school knowledge also
arms students with daily skills for life. For instance, students of tourism universities would learn how to
adapt with a brand-new environment, or deal with homesickness lonely. There is diverse actual
experience of pre-generations in their daily life that the both insensible and insensitive young, can not
realize.

However, universities should maximumly concentrate on training skills for students to prepare for their
jobs. Firstly, thorough training from universities would enhance the employee performance. In many
companies, the ability of workers wholly determines success or failure of a business and a long-run
process, in which companies are expecting the most for high-quality workforces. Secondly, detailed
instruction from higher education would help students be more advantageous for a position in a
competitive job market. The jobs are now diminishing due to the invention of techonology, which also
promotes the competitiveness in the run for a company. With a nice CV and a background of academic
university degree, students are more likely to be found and looked down on for actual aptitude. Thirdlly,
university training would develop the workforce standards of a nation. Without a depth in professions,
workers seem to be unskilled and unprepared for situations, which are mostly taught in universities.
Also, high-quality workforce from universities would have better labouring performance, which also
betters the whole quality of a company, and a whole national workforce, due to the widespreading of
competitiveness.

In conclusion, knowledge itself just gives basic practical perceivability and daily experience, while
universities training is in need due to its enhancement of employee performance, arrms for
competitiveness in job markets and the rise of national workforce qualities. Universities training is
important, therefore, it should be promoted in educations.
