A. EXPRESSIVE
1. To show the benefits of fruits and vegetables.
2. To learn all their colors and kinds that are good for us.
3. To help them to see the beauty in a meal, and understand the food is crucial to our lives,
so how we treat our bodies from now on, help us now and in the future.

B. INSTRUCTIONAL
1. To recall the details in the story.
2. To respond to the story through the following engagement activities:
A. Presenting a sensory play introducing different fruits and vegetables
B. Asking question about what they learn in the story.

A. Pre-reading Activities
1. Unlocking of Difficulties

Introduction: On the board are the meanings of the word and phrases that we will learn today. Let’s
read them altogether .

Tingle To feel a lot of sharp points are being put quickly


and lightly into your body.

Saccharine Excessively sweet.

Myriad Great numbers of person or things.

Relish Great enjoyment.

A. Tingle – Context clues

Introduction: The first phrase that we will learn today is tingle. Can you read it with me?

Modeling: When I was a little I always though I was a marked out, special, on the verge of
something momentous.

Feedback: What does tingle mean? Have you ever been feel tingle? When it is?

Application: What can you do to avoid tingle feeling?

B. Saccharine – Context clues

Introduction: Next we will learn about the word saccharine. Can you say it again?

Modeling: When I was in High School, I met a friend that are very talkative and every time we
met she talks about her dog in such a saccharine way that you would think she is talking about a
human child.

Feedback: So what saccharine mean from the definition on the board? Did you try to be
saccharine sometimes.

Application: Have you ever feel saccharine toward a one person.

C. Myriad - Context clues


Introduction: For the third one, we will learn about this phrase. Can you read it?

Modeling: One day Jane celebrate her Birthday party on their garden and she felt happy on that
day because myriad of people attended, and also she receive myriad of gifts that she can able to
count the myriad of blessing she had received.

Feedback: What does myriad mean? Can you give example of it?

Application: Did you experience myriad of blessings?

D. Relish – Context clues

Introduction: For our last phrase, we have here, scrambled back down. Can you
say it again?

Modeling: Kent was having a examination and he is confident that he will passed in the
examination because he study well, so when the test paper already distributed he start
answering it, and after taking that examination the teacher checked his test paper and he felt
relish because he got a high score.

Feedback: What does relish means? Did you understand what the meaning of relish by the given
definition?

Application: Can you give me an example of relish situation?

1. What are the six colors mention in the story? (L1) Green, Red, Yellow, White, Orange,
and Purple.
2. What do you think will happened if we don’t eat those colors? (L2) Our body will
endanger because we don’t have a vitamins and minerals in our body.

In this activity you will identify the picture of the unhealthy foods and paste it in the piece of paper.
After that you will present in in front of the class.
