a certain location or environment. The term "biodiversity" refers to the variety of life on Earth, which
includes humans, plants, animals, and microbes. According to the research carried out by scientists, the
world is home to over 8.7 million unique kinds of plants and animals. However, there have only been
roughly 1.2 million species discovered and described up until this point, the vast majority of which are
insects. This indicates that the identities of millions of other species will continue to be kept secret.
