1.1 Outline of the data transfer functions of FLEGD-GW

The FLEGD-GW sends data according to information (transfer information) registered on the setting tool.
The transfer source and destination are identified by EGD exchange number (Exchange ID), Producer ID,
the IP address (only for sending) and the address and size of the FL-net Common memory 2 table.
The image of data transfer function of the FLEGD-GW is shown below.

2 Workflow
The workflow of the FLEGD-GW tool is shown below. See “Chapter 5 System definition examples” about
setting examples.

2.1 Initial setting

Preparation
- Set the IP address of PC (where FLEGD-GW Setting Tool is
installed).
IP address: 192.168.4.XX (XX: any number other than 127)
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
- Connect FLEGD-GW (LAN2) to PC (where FLEGD-GW Setting
Tool is installed) with the Ethernet cable (cross cable may be used
Follow these steps
but may never be connected to other equipment). when the GW IP
[Initial setting of LAN2] address is unknown.
IP address: 192.168.4.127
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

Preparation
- Confirm IP address of GW.
(See Section 7.5 of FLEGD-GW Instruction Manual)
- Set the IP address of the setting tool PC to the same
network address as the GW IP address.

Network setting on the GW side

- Open "Check Transfer Information" screen.
- Select “GW Off” under "GW mode in initialization" on "General
Information" screen.
- Set the network information (IP address, etc.) in the FL-net setting
(LAN1)/EGD setting (LAN2) on "General Information" screen, and
press "Update & Exit" button.
- Open other transfer information setting screens, and press
"Update & Exit" button.
- Check the “General Information” screen and execute GW write
operation.
- Reboot the FLEGD-GW.
- If the order-based IP address of the tool PC is different from the IP
address of the PC prepared under “Preparation” above, set the IP See Section 4.3
address of the tool PC to the PC.

GW registration and selection

- Register the IP address for FLEGD-GW tool connection (LAN2) on
"GW Registration and Selection" screen. See Section 4.2

Confirmation of communication between the tool and

FLEGD-GW
- Confirm communication between the tool and FLEGD-GW on
"Status Monitor" screen. ("Communication" should be blinking in
green).
- GW is set to “Do not transfer” at initialization. (See Section 2.2
about the transfer definitions.) See Section 4.5

The log table screen composition is shown below.
There are four kinds of log tables (Network monitor, RAS monitor information, Access error information and
EGD watch trace information). Pressing the “Open" or "GW Read" button in the File menu will display the
applicable data. The displayed data can be saved in a file by "Save As" operation in the File menu.
The log information in FLEGD-GW can be cleared and initialized by "GW clear" operation in the File menu.
In this screen group, several log screens of the same type can be displayed simultaneously.

4.4.1 “Network monitor” screen
