Method Formula: 

1) Arithmetic Method Pn = Po + ( A x n )

where
Po = Existing Population
A   = Average growth per decade
n   = Number of decades

PLANNING STANDARDS
Government has prescribed planning standards under circular No.TPS-
3674/8773-UD-5, dated 15.6.1979. Planning Standards are prescribed for
following facilities :-
Facility Requirement
Primary School 15% of overall population as primary school 
going children

1 site for every 500 students
` Area required per student
5 sq.m per student for building
3 sq.m per student for playground 

Secondary School 10% of overall population as secondary school 
going children
1 site for every 1200 students
Area required per student
5 sq.m per student for building
10 sq.m per student for playground

Garden 1 site of at least 2 hectares for 25,000
population

Dispensary & Maternity Home 1 site of 0.25 hectare for 20,000 population
