Shinson Hapkido Summer Camp,

Dear Citizens, Dear Visitors,
Dear Friends,

This year, the Shinson Hapkido Summer Camp will take place for the 25th time. The goal of the summer camp is
”To go our way together“. We will become ”real“ humans in jointly training, spreading and reaching humanity
during this week of the summer camp and beyond.

The Shinson Hapkido Summer Camp is a practical training for our health and for a joyful and happy life.
It is also a training for peace in the world and the protection of our environment. The activities during this week
will be a lot of fun, make us happy and really enrich our life.

Last year, we celebrated the 25th anniversary of Shinson Hapkido. A quarter century is quite a remarkable
achievement. During all this time, many members of Shinson Hapkido have fully dedicated themselves to the
community and our common way even though it was not always easy. On this occasion, I would like to express
my gratitude to all members and their families for joining us on this way.

The organization of a Summer Camp is a hard and complex challenge without any personal benefit. This task
can only be accomplished with cordiality, respect and pleasure in sharing and helping. Therefore, I would like to
sincerely thank the organizers of the Shinson Hapkido schools in Hamburg and all helpers from Bremen, Semmerin
and all Shinson Hapkido schools in North Germany and to send all of them a lot of Ki for the upcoming tasks.

25 years ago, the basic idea of the Summer Camp was to offer vacation for people who do not have a lot of money.
In everyday life, money, power and technique are often overvalued. We let our heart roam and gradually get lost.
But we can not live happily and joyfully without our heart! Many people are more and more lonely and the original
values get lost. Within schools, associations etc. some kind of isolated ”inner circles“ are being formed, life
darkens, the environment gets more and more aggressive, illnesses increase and the people suffer more and more.

Due to this, the motto of the Shinson Hapkido summer camp is ”International get-together and cultural exchange,
health and fitness, vacation and recreation for the whole family“. This is a very special event and a very important
work. The Shinson Hapkido training ”You and Me are One“, ”Heaven-Earth-Humans (Chon-Jie-In) are One“ awakens
the consciousness for the community and develops humanity, respect and cordiality among each other.
This training also broadens the experience ”Nature and Me are One“ which teaches us a new consciousness
for our environment. In addition, the training in the nature and healthy food will heal our body and mind.

The responsibles for the summer camp and the Shinson Hapkido teachers will endeavor to develop the
Summer Camp program further towards health, prevention and fun and to be a good role model for the children
and youth, our next generation.

25th International Shinson Hapkido Summer Camp, Hamburg, 24.– 31.07. 2009
This year’s big Shinson Hapkido Show will take place on July 30th, 2009 at 7:00 pm in the Kampagnel theatre
in Hamburg. We will donate the proceeds of this Show to the project ”Casa Verde“ in Arequipa, Peru, the social
projects supported by the Shinson Hapkido schools in Hamburg and the ”Medical help center for refugees and
migrants“ in Hamburg due to our gratitude for life and the principle of sharing practized in Shinson Hapkido.
We would very much appreciate if you could support and help us in this mission, e.g. in advertising fort he show.

From the bottom of my heart, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the responsible organizers of the
Summer Camp, Bu-Sabomnims Sigrid Bujack-Blecher, Ruth Arens and Rotraud Hänlein, and to the many helpers of
the Shinson Hapkido family and to wish you a lot of energy, courage and fun. Traditionally, the Shinson Hapkido
Summer Camp is not a “One-Man-Show“. Instead, all participants contribute to this event and have their share
of the responsibility.

Particularly, I would like to sincerely thank our guests of honor, Grandmaster Kim, Jong-Yoon, founder of
Kuk Sool Kwan Hapkido, and his wife from Canada, and my teacher, Hapkido Grandmaster Changsan Park, Hyun-Soo,
and his wife from Korea, who will travel to Hamburg to be with us at the Shinson Hapkido Summer Camp.

To conclude, I would like to sincerely thank the patron of the Shinson Hapkido Summer Camp, the 2nd Mayor of
Hamburg, Christa Goetsch, and the town of Hamburg for all the support which enables us to realize this event.

I wish the people who come and see the international Shinson Hapkido Show “Heaven-Earth-Humans“,
all participants in the 25th international Shinson Hapkido Summer Camp and their families a life full of joy, health,
quietness and peace.

I pray that You and Me and Nature will become One and that we will experience the Ki energy together
so that we rebuild positive energy for life.
