PROBLEMS
• Homlessness: the state of being homeless, having no home to
live in. Homeless people live in the street.
• Poverty: is a situation in which a person's basic physical and
psychological needs cannot be met.
• Joblessness: the state of being jobless and unemployed, having
no work. The lack of job opportunities.
• Illiteracy: the state of being not educated. Illiterate people can
neither read nor write.
• Illegal immigration: migratory movement of people across
borders without meeting the legal requirements of the country
of destination
• Famine: it is a situation that occurs when a country or geographical area does
not have enough food and resources to provide food to the population.

• Beggar: a person who lives by asking people for money and food.

• Shantytowns: houses lacking healthy conditions to live in.

• Disability: Lack or limitation of any physical or mental faculty that


prevents or hinders the normal development of a person's activity.
ENVIRONMENT
• Climate change: global variation of the Earth's climate due to
natural causes.
• Sewage water: these are those from domestic, industrial,
commercial, agricultural, livestock or any other activity that, due to
the use to which they have been subjected, contain organic matter
and other chemical substances that alter their original quality.
• Endangered species: biological species that is in danger of
disappearing.
• Greenhouse effect: process in which thermal radiation emitted by
the planetary surface is absorbed by atmospheric greenhouse gases
and is radiated in all directions.
• Noise pollution: excess sound that alters the normal conditions of
the environment in a certain area.
• Pollution: introduction of substances or other physical elements into
a medium, which make it unsafe or unfit for use.
• Smog: air pollution.
• Toxic waste: substances capable of causing death or causing
harmful effects on the health of the population.
• Global warming: long-term rise in temperature of the Earth's climate
system.
• Chemicals: homogeneous matter whose composition is fixed and
chemically defined.
• Ozone layer: layer that surrounds the Earth preventing solar rays
and ultraviolet rays from reaching living beings.
