Assignment 2

1. Write a journal entry for 15 to 20 minutes on the following topic.

Think about something unusual that you witnessed recently. What happened? What

was unusual about the experience? What about this experience struck you? How did you feel

coming away from the experience?

The last week I had to witness a bad happening in the school in which I am working currently.

I am the English teacher there, I was hired around a month ago. I was in inductions almost every day;

but at the same time, I had to give classes to the during this last term of the year.

The first time that I had class with the students of 11th grade, everything went as normal as possible.

I introduced myself and gave the most important commands and advices for the class. But the second

time I had class with them; as soon as I came in to the classroom a student was yelling and

behaving in a wrong way. I told him off because it was annoying all the things he was doing.

Suddenly, he started answering me in a bad way, being so rude with me. I just tried to handle the

situation. Unfortunately, the next class the situation went worse, he coursed me in the middle of the
class.

Everybody was listening to the things that the student was saying to me. Immediately, I took him to

the principal’s office to try to solve the problem. But the student was very upset. He started yelling the

Principal, even with bad words. At the end, he was fired from the school because of his behavior.

Although it was the best punishment for him, I felt really bad with the situation! I am new in the

school, I do not know most of the students; even more, I always tried to be kind with them, but this

was something that I never expected lo live here. I want the student to reflect on the situation and

change his attitude towards life.
