Lesson Plan

Class-IX Time – 5 Days

Co-ordinate Geometry
Learning-Outcomes – Identify the points are situated in the
quadrant or x-axis or y-axis and plot in the graph.
Suggested Pedagological Processes- Discuss about the points, x-axis,
y-axis and origin. Plot the points in the graph and verify the quadrant
or axis for the given points.
अधीति – Explain all topics of co-ordinate geometry:-
(i) X-axis
(ii) Y-axis
(iii) Quadrant
(iv) Origin
(v) Point
(vi) Abscissa
(vii) Ordinate
(viii) Plot the points in the graph
Bodh – Students will do some activities for learning
Activity I:-
Locate the points A (5,0); B (2,5); C (-3,5); D (-3, -5); E (4, -5); F (0, -5)
Rubric – Draw x-axis and y-axis ------------- 2 marks
Cleanliness ----------- 2 Marks
Plot each point on Correct Position (1*6) -------------- 6 marks
Total ----- 10 Marks
Activity II
Complete the column 2 with the help of column 1.
COLUMN I COLUMN II
(i) Point (9,7) lies in
(ii) Point (5, -6) lies in
(iii) Point (-3, -4) lies in
(iv) Point (-2,3) lies in
(v) Point (5,0) lies in
(vi) Point (0, -5) lies in
(vii) Point (0,5) lies in
(viii) Point (-6,0) lies in
(ix) Point (-3, -7) lies in
(x) Point (7,7) lies in

Rubric :- Each part of activity II is of one mark

1*10 = 10 Marks

अभ्यास एवं प्रयोग :- Teachers will discuss with students about

some problems of Co-ordinate Geometry.
(i) Plot the following points and check whether these are collinear
a.(2, -4), (3,6), and (-1,2) b. (1,1), (2, -3), (-1, -2)
(ii) In which quadrant or on which axis does each of the following
points lie
a.(-4, 2), (3, -2), (4,0), (3,3), and (-4,-5)
प्रसार– (Extended learning)

Teacher will discuss about some questions to check the

knowledge of the chapter (co-ordinate geometry) for
extended learning.
1.Three vertices of a rectangle are (-1,1), (5,1), (5,3) plot these points
and find the coordinates of the fourth vertex.
2.Plot the point P(1,0), Q(4,0), and S(1,3). Find the coordinates of the
point are such that PQRS is a square.
3.Plot the points (-3,0), (5,0) and (0,4) on the Cartesian plane. Name
the figure formed by joining these points and find its area.
