SLIP TEST – Co-ordinate Geometry + Practical Geometry + Graph

Time Allowed: 3.15 Hours Maximum Marks: 90

Information : (i) Check the question paper for the fairness of printing.
(ii) If there is any lack of fairness, inform the hall supervisor immediately.
(iii) Use Blue or Black ink pen to write the answers and underline and use
pencil to draw diagrams.

Note: This question paper consists of FIVE parts.

PART – I

Note: (i) Answer ALL of the following questions.

(ii) Each question carries 2 marks. 𝟔 × 𝟐 = 𝟏𝟐

1. Find the distance between the pairs of points (3, – 9) and (–2, 3).

2. Plot the points (–5,3), (–1,3), (0,3) and (5,3) in the coordinate plane and join them. What
is your conclusion about the resulting figure?

3. Find the coordinates of point which divides the line segment joining the points A (4, −3)
and B (9, 7) in the ratio 3:2.

4. Find the mid-points of the line segment joining the points (a, b) and (a + 2b, 2a − b)

5. Find the centroid of the triangle whose vertices are A (6, −1), B (8, 3) and C (10, −5).

6. The centre of a circle is (−4,2). If one end of the diameter of the circle is (−3,7), then find
the other end.

PART – II

Note: (i) Answer any TWO of the following questions appropriately.

(ii) Q. no. 9 is compulsory. 𝟐×𝟑=𝟔

7. Solve 1.5𝑥 + 0.1𝑦 = 6.2; 3𝑥 − 0.4𝑦 = 11.2 using substitution method.

8. Solve 𝑥 − 𝑦 = 5; 3𝑥 + 2𝑦 = 25.

9. Solve for x and y: 13𝑥 + 11𝑦 = 70; 11𝑥 + 13𝑦 = 74 using elimination method.

PART – III
Note: (i) Answer any SIX of the following questions.

(ii) Q. no. 16 is compulsory. 𝟔 × 𝟓 = 𝟑𝟎

10. Prove that the point (11,2) is the centre of the circle passing through the coordinate points
(1,2), (3, –4) and (5, –6). Also find the radius of the circle.

11. In what ratio does the point P (–2, 4) divide the line segment joining the points A (–3, 6)
and B (1, –2) internally?

12. Show that the points A (7,10), B (-2, 5), C (3, –4) are the vertices of a right-angled triangle.

13. Show that the points A (–3, 1), B (–6, –7), C (3, –9), D (6, –1) taken in order form the
vertices of a parallelogram.

14. Find the points which divide the line segment joining A (−11,4) and B (9,8) into four equal
parts.

A (−11,4) P Q R B (9,8)

15. A (–1, 1), B (1, 3) and C (3, a) are points and if AB = BC, then find ‘a’.

16. The mid-point of the sides of a triangle are (2,4), (−2,3) and (5,2). Find the coordinates of
the vertices of the triangle.

PART – IV
Note: (i) Answer all the questions following appropriately.
(ii) Practical Geometry questions. 𝟒 × 𝟕 = 𝟐𝟖

17. Draw and locate the Orthocentre of a right triangle PQR where PQ = 4.5 cm, QR = 6 cm
and PR = 7.5 cm.

18. Draw ∆ ABC given AB = 9 cm, ∠CAB = 115° and ∠ABC 40°. Locate its incentre and also
draw the incircle.

19. Draw the Δ ABC, where AB = 6cm, ∠B = 110° and AC = 9cm and construct the centroid.

20. Construct an isosceles triangle PQR where PQ= PR and ∠Q = 50o, QR = 7cm. Also draw
its circumcircle.

PART – V
Note: (i) Answer ALL the questions following using Graph sheets.
(ii) Solve the following equations using graphical method. 𝟐 × 𝟕 = 𝟏𝟒

21. 𝑦 = 2𝑥 + 1 and −4𝑥 + 2𝑦 = 2.

22. 3𝑥 + 2𝑦 = 4 and 9𝑥 + 6𝑦 − 12 = 0.
