The Competition Organizer has the authority under GR702.1 and GR914 to remove from the facility any person who
does not comply with the regulations and requirements in effect at the competition.

Show Office

• All entries must be perfect. Text/phone messages to communicate scratches are acceptable. Packets will be placed
outside office for pickup when you arrive.
• Scratches and rider/horse changes can be communicated via text or phone to the show office. Office and show
officials’ numbers will be posted throughout the facility.
Food Service

• Free water and snacks will be available at the show.

Stabling (IMPORTANT CHANGES – PLEASE READ!)

• Limited day stalls will be available at Galloping Spring Ranch for $35/day.
• Overnight Stabling and RV hookups are available at Dripping Springs Ranch Park (10 minute drive from Ranch),
located at 1042 Event Center Drive, Drippings Springs, TX 78620. Stalls are $25/day for 10x10, Double stalls
$50/day. Shavings $9/bag. No outside shavings allowed. Contact Lily Sellers (512) 894-2390 or
LSellers@cityofdrippingsprings.com. Payment via CC or cash/check upon arrival. RV hookup is $45/night for 30
or 50 AMP service. Hookups include electric and water. There is an RV dump station also included in the
reservation.
• All entries stabling at Dripping Springs Ranch Park will have the haul-in fee waived.

Competition Schedules, Score Sheets and Awards

• Ride Schedules and results will be posted on display board near barn/arena. Ride times and results are also available
on www.FoxVillage.com and will be posted online at least 2 days before the show. Ride times will NOT be final until
Friday NOON, August 5.
• Awards and tests may be picked up at the office. Ribbons will be awarded for First through Third place, as well as an
award for First place. National Level High Point will be awarded by ribbon/award by Division (Open/Jr/AA) and FEI
(Divisions Combined). Social distancing must be maintained when picking up awards.
A portion of proceeds will be donated to the Michael j. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Thank

Entry Requirements: Complete entries must include copy of a Coggins taken within 12 months of the show date and a copy of
vaccinations. Entries missing any of these items will be considered incomplete. Entries are accepted on a first-come, first-
served basis, based on postmark date and entries may be limited. Those entries postmarked after closing will be accepted at
the discretion of the show secretary, based on a space available basis and charged a late fee per show. If the classes are
oversubscribed, a Waiting List (in the order of receipt) will be maintained. Management reserves the right to refuse any entry.

Membership/Non Member/Proof of Membership fees: All participants (rider, owner, trainer, agent, lessee, or coach) must
present to the competition secretary a current USEF membership card or copy thereof. In the event the participant does not
have his/her card or copy, he/she must pay a $45 USEF show pass fee per show. All Riders and Owners must present a
current membership card or pay the USDF non-membership fee per show. Those who cannot provide proof of their USDF
membership may fill out an affidavit form and must pay the $5 fee. The affidavit may also be used to verify horse registration
and/or horse ownership. The USDF non-member fee is $35.

Safe Sport: Reminder: All USEF Life and Senior Active members, as well as participants who have regular contact with minor
athletes, are required to comply with the U.S. Center for SafeSport training requirement to be eligible to participate in the
competition. All participants must adhere to the U.S. Center for SafeSport Code, USEF Safe Sport Policy, and the Minor Athlete
Abuse Prevention Policies. More information about these can be found at www.usef.org.

Non-competing Horses: Due to the limited stabling, we are not allowing non-compete horses at this time.
Horse/Rider Substitution: A new entry form must be completed for any horse or rider substitutions; no additional class fees
will be collected, but a new office fee will be charged for the new entry.

Official Ride Times: Stabling assignments and provisional times will be available to competitors online and emailed. Official
times will be available at noon the day before the show.

Refund Policy: Entry cancellations received prior to closing date will be refunded, less office fee. NO REFUNDS after closing
date.

Hazardous Weather/Act OF God/Accident Policy: Management reserves the right to cancel any classes due to hazardous
weather, Acts of God, accident, or emergency. Every effort will be made to reschedule with priority given to any qualifying
classes being offered. No refunds for cancellations due to hazardous weather, Acts of God, accidents or emergencies.

Schedule: Classes may not necessarily be run in the order listed in the class lists. It is the responsibility of the rider to inform
the show secretary of any time conflicts as soon as possible after receiving the schedule. Management reserves the right to
change officials, limit entries, combine or cancel classes, and modify the schedule, and to modify or cancel awards and/or
make whatever changes are required by circumstances to the competition specifications listed herein. Show Management
reserves the right to cancel classes insufficiently filled and to refuse or require withdrawal of an entry for cause deemed
sufficient by Show Management.

Freestyles: Freestyles should be in MP4 file format and should be emailed to show secretary prior to show.

Stabling: All stalls are permanent 12x12 with doors. Stall charts will be posted online and check-in will start one hour before
show time Saturday/Sunday mornings. Packets will be available outside show office for those with complete entries.

Arenas/Footing/Warm-Up: All tests are ridden in 20 x 60 meter arena with fine sand. Warmup arena has sand/clay mix
footing.

Veterinarian: Sunset Canyon Vet Clinic – 512.894.0266 on call.

Concessions/Restrooms: The facility will provide limited concessions – drinks/snacks. Air conditioned portable restroom
trailer will be on site..

Children/Pets: Well-mannered dogs on leashes at all times are welcome. Loose dogs will be impounded and will incur a $100
fee which is donated to the local humane society. Children must be adult supervised at all times and maintain social distancing.

Ribbons and Awards: An award for first place and ribbons awarded 1st through 3rd place for all levels. Management
reserves the right to combine classes with 3 or less entries. Awards and tests will be available after class has been pinned.
Champion and reserve ribbons will be awarded for High Point FEI, national level (Levels Training-Fourth combined) High
Point Junior, Amateur and Open.

ALL RIDERS MUST WEAR HELMETS DR120.6 From the time horses are officially admitted to the competition grounds by
competition management, anyone mounted on a horse at any time on the competition grounds including noncompeting riders,
riders on noncompeting horses, mounted participants in exhibition classes and those competing in all classes and tests,
including Para-Equestrian tests, must wear protective headgear as defined by this rule and otherwise in compliance with
GR801. Any rider violating this rule at any time must immediately be prohibited from further riding until such headgear is
properly in place. Protective headgear is defined as a riding helmet which meets or exceeds ASTM (American Society for
Testing and Materials)/SEI (Safety Equipment Institute) standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag. The harness
must be secured and properly fitted.

US EQUESTRIAN FEDERATION RULES

“EVERY CLASS OFFERED HEREIN WHICH IS COVERED BY THE RULES AND SPECIFICATIONS OF THE CURRENT
FEDERATION RULE BOOK WILL BE CONDUCTED AND JUDGED IN ACCORDANCE THEREWITH.”

Exhibitors should exercise extreme caution before medicating their horses and should be aware of the US EQUESTRIAN
FEDERATION rules governing drugs and medications. Any questions about the use of certain medications and regarding Rule IV

USEF MEMBERSHIP STATEMENT DR901.9: Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all
classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Modified Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the
Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler,
rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining
Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $45 Show Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are
exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot
(exception: Friesian performance FR222) and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a
lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8)
Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own
National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes.

MOTORIZED VEHICLE RULE- In accordance with GR1301.7: Minors who do not have a valid driver’s license which allows
them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind,
including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed
competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are
accompanied by an adult with a valid driver’s license. The parent/legal guardian or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or
guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or
actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for penalties against those responsible for the child
committing the offense. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule.

The unsafe use of personal electronic transport devices, as determined by the competition officials and management in their sole
discretion, that do not require a driver’s license to operate, including but not limited to segways, hover boards, and single wheeled
scooters is prohibited on competition grounds. Operating such devices in areas where people gather may be deemed “unsafe use” if
there is a risk of harm to others. If the operator of the device is a minor, the parent/legal guardian or individual who signs the entry
blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating the device in violation of this rule is accountable and may be subject to penalties.
Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule.

Sharps Containers: Competition management shall place a minimum of one sharps container per each competition, whether or not
stabling is provided. Additionally, at least one sharps container per fifty occupied stalls for the disposal of needles and other disposable
sharp instruments in convenient locations in barns housing competition horses. It is competition management’s responsibility to replace
such containers when full and dispose of them properly. Competition management may fine any individuals including trainers,
owners, exhibitors, or their agents up to $100 for improper disposal of needles or other sharp disposable instruments. If local
law has different requirements, local law will prevail.

GR845 Equine Vaccination Rule 1. At Federation licensed competitions, horses entering the grounds must be accompanied by
documentation of Equine Influenza Virus and Equine Herpes Virus (Rhinopneumonitis) vaccinations within six months prior to
entering the stables. Horses not in compliance with this rule may be required to leave the competition grounds upon request by
Competition Management. Documentation should consist of one of the following methods mentioned below. The frequency of
vaccine administration should be per the vaccine manufacturers’ or veterinarian’s recommendations. It is recommended that vaccines
are administered by or under the direction of a veterinarian. 2. In the case of vaccines administered by a veterinarian, the exhibitor,
upon request by Competition Management, must provide documentation from the veterinarian on documenting that the horse in
question received the vaccinations; name of the vaccines and date of vaccine administration. 3. In the case of vaccines administered by
a person other than a veterinarian, the exhibitor, upon request by Competition Management, must provide a receipt of the vaccine
purchase which is signed by the owner, or agent with care, custody, and control of the horse; name, serial number and expiration date
of the vaccine; and date of vaccine administration. 4. In the case of a horse that is unable to receive either of the vaccinations due to a
history of adverse reactions, the exhibitor, upon request by Competition Management, must provide a letter from the veterinarian on
official letterhead stating that the horse in question cannot be vaccinated due to medical concerns and a log of temperatures taken twice
daily for the seven days prior to entering the competition grounds. These horses must also have their temperature taken and logged
twice daily while on the competition grounds. The log of temperatures should be provided to the Competition Management, steward,
or technical delegate when requested. 5. Competition Management may not amend or enhance vaccination requirements without prior
approval of the Veterinary Committee. BOD 1/17/15 Effective 12/1/15.

THE RULES MAY HAVE CHANGED FROM THE CURRENT RULE BOOK. IT IS THE COMPETITORS’ RESPONSIBILITY TO CHECK THE CURRENT
USEF RULE BOOK FOR ANY CHANGES. The listed rules Are only general and are subject to change at the discretion of the Board of Directors of USEF. Current
rules can be found on www.usef.org.

All questions not covered in these rules and regulations shall be decided by the show management whose
decision shall be final.
Every horse entered for competition will comply with the rules of the horse show management, but management
will, in no case, be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur, and it shall be condition of entry that each
exhibitor shall hold this horse show and the officials and employees of the show blameless for any loss or
accident to his horse, employees, equipment, which may occur from sickness, fire or otherwise.
The management reserves the right to refuse, accept conditionally, or to cancel any entries, disqualify any riders
or exhibitors, prohibit entries and cancel award prizes without claims for damages; to cancel or combine unfilled
classes, or to reschedule classes after due notice to exhibitors; to change rings or rotate judges.
Exhibitors are notified that any act of discourtesy or disobedience to the judges or officials, on the part of the
owner, manager, rider, or groom shall disqualify the horse, and the owner shall forfeit his entry fee and other
fees.
Show management reserves to itself the power to prohibit any person from attending or showing a horse in the
ring and to remove any groom or horse from the show without being liable for compensation.
No person will be allowed in the show ring during the time of judging except the exhibitor and those having
official or requested duties to perform.
It is the tradition of the show that riders be correctly attired for the class in question, that attendants be neatly
dressed and the horses properly presented. Management may in its discretion bar any person from entering the
ring if not suitable presented to appear before an audience.
Southwest Dressage Championship 2022 Qualifying Percentages
Southwest Dressage Championship Qualifying Classes will be governed by the rules published in the
current SWDC/Region 9 Omnibus and/or on web site www.swdressage.org. Each rider must declare
the division in which they are competing prior to each attempt at a qualifying ride at SWDC qualifying
shows or for a score submitted under the rules (Amateur, Open, or Junior/Young Rider) and must
provide proof of eligibility in the case of Amateur and Junior/Young Riders. Adult Amateur and
Junior/Young Riders may also qualify for the Open division. Separate scores must be earned for
each division. At the Championships, they must enter each division separately and ride in each
division separately. There is no requirement of citizenship or horse/rider/owner registrations for
SWDC, but each horse/rider pair must comply with USEF and competition rules.

Competitors may check scores by checking the www.swdressage.org web site or by


sending an email to SWDC Qualifying Secretary, at qualifying@swdressage.org. To
permit recording, scores will not be available until at least three weeks after the
competition.

Southwest Dressage Championship Qualifying Classes will be governed by the rules on


web site (www.swdressage.org). Look for changes on the website.

***Junior Riders may qualify for the SWDC Open Third Level Freestyle Championship
Class using qualifying scores obtained from Junior Rider Freestyle and Young Riders may
qualify for the SWDC Open FEI Level Freestyle class using the Young Riders Freestyle.
Scores must meet the division percentages and the rider must state the intention to qualify
for those classes and pay qualifying fees PRIOR TO THE RIDE.

BEFORE YOU SEAL YOUR ENTRY ENVELOPE

ALL THREE boxes on the back of your entry form should be signed. The Trainer Box should be signed
by the adult responsible for the horse on the show grounds. For JR/YR, this should be the parent’s signature
(or the accompanying adult).

A LEGIBLE copy of a current Coggins dated within 12 months of the last date of the show must be
included. The name on the Coggins MUST match the horse’s show name or a notarized letter from the
vet must accompany the Coggins.

Current USEF/USDF cards must be included with entry. To be registered in Adult Amateur classes, your
card must note your amateur status. Both rider and owner must be a member of USEF and a participating
member of USDF for ride in qualifying classes to count. Owner may be a USDF Business Member.

Horse’s USDF registration must be included. If you’re riding in qualifying classes, you must also have a
copy of your horse’s USEF registration.

Make checks or money orders made payable to GALLOPING SPRINGS RANCH. If using PayPal or
Venmo, please process your payments immediately. Entry is not complete without payment.

Entries must be POSTMARKED by or on the closing date.

PLEASE NOTE: Any entry that does not include the above upon receipt will be assessed an incomplete fee.
Any entry that does not include the above by the closing date will be considered late and will be assessed a
late fee. Packets and ride times will not be distributed for incomplete entries.
