Respecting Other’s Political Views is a Must

One of the most controversial topics today is politics, especially the

national election is coming. Different people has their own political views and

opinions. Other people used information regarding from what they researched,

on the other hand, others used from what they experienced and read or

watched online.

However, most people were extremely obsessed with their political

bets. Some educate other people just to change their minds, while other are

becoming toxic individuals who are disrespectful and mostly underestimating

others’ bet. This kind of issue is truly alarming especially for a united country

like Philippines.

The unity which is Philippines was known is gradually missing because

of these issue. This political matter has been creating a huge wall to everyone

that made the connection of one another interrupted. As per Duchovnay and

Moore (2020) one of the most urgent issues of our time is animosity among

political and social groupings, in which people despise or even detest those

who have opposing views. It causes rifts amongst family and friends,

coworkers and colleagues, politicians, and the general public. People and the

government that serves them find it difficult to tackle societal problems due to

the acrimony between political groupings. People grow distrustful of one

another as a result of these divisions, allowing misinformation to propagate

and gain traction. These shows how unessential disrespecting other people’s

political views.
 Moreover, there are proper ways on how to present facts which will

help not to offend the feelings of other people. Making sure to have a

respectful tone and manner is truly a big help for other people absorb the

corrections. Chapman (2021) propounded that respecting others’ viewpoints

does not imply betraying someone’s own. It just asks anyone to acknowledge

that others have the right to see the world in different ways than people do,

and that they can expect a fair hearing when they share their perspectives

with it together.

Succinctly, I was definitely essential that people should learn the value

of respect for everyone. Those with opposing viewpoints should keep their

opinions to themselves in order to keep the conversation flowing smoothly.

Alternatively, they may opt not to challenge you because you intimidate them.

They may become frustrated if they realize they are giving the idea of

agreeing with an opinion when they do not. Present your viewpoints as just

that: viewpoints, not absolute truths. Allow for differences of opinion and solicit

input.
