A NOSY PERSON, UMMM…

Julia : Hey, long time no see you.

María : Howdy, oh boy… You are so beautiful.
Julia : Oh! Thanks.
María : I heard about you are married. Is that true?
Julia : You too! Oh, curses. Here again. I break up 5 years ago. I am single again.
María : Sounds good. You know I am a little bit nosy. Can you tell me what happened?
Julia : You haven’t changed that part. OK. Let me think. We met on Christmas 2010. We were hanging
out a lot, you know… parties, restaurants, cinemas and so on. We extremely got on well. I relied on
him 100%. To my way of thinking, Love is blind.
After that, we decided to move in together. In fact, that was the huge problem ’cause I could
recognize myself on him. It was terrible. Moreover, he would work a lot.
Briefly, we started falling out, maybe ten times a week. Definitely, it was such a toxic relationship.
María : I see. Go on, please.
Julia : Some weeks before we split up, I had seen him sort of different.

Julia : So shhh…. Right. Then I discovered that he had been cheating on me for over 1 year. I was in
shock. That day was utterly tough for me due to the fact that I didn’t sleep days. Nevertheless,
after 5 days, I broke up and finished with him.
María : Wow… you should have finished with him after 2 days, no 5. And after that…
Julia : Sshh… I am trying to look back on it. Oh, yes. After the discussion I came across a love note on his
pocket. And I said to myself “That’s enough.” Lastly, we got divorced. Oh no, no, no… last but not
least, He was a love rat. he married her after a week. I hooked, lined and sinkered.
María : I can’t believe that… on the other hand, I am completely sure that you will meet somebody soon.
Julia : As a matter of fact, I am beginning to love someone.
María : Who is he? I know him. He is one of my good friends, or very close friends. Oh, come on Julia.
Tell me now.
Julia : That’s right! His name is Steve, he is from Canada and I have the hots for him. We are meeting
tomorrow night because it’s our anniversary day.
María : I will go with you.
Julia : Crap! You’re insane. That’s my business.
María : Ooupsy, you have reason. Do you have any future plans?
Julia : Absolutely, to begin with, we are going to visit his family next month. Indeed, our plane arrives at
10am there. Needless to say, I’ll be meeting his family at 12 o’clock sharp.
María : You are so lucky. You made for each other.
Julia : Thanks. Even though, I am nervous about my English. Owing to my pronunciation, I am not using
phrasal verbs or idioms. And you know, they are so common in English.
María : Julia, you are smart, you will be familiar with them in a sec. Just trust on you. Moreover,
your English is better than mine. Let’s move on. How long have you been living together?
Julia : Oh, thanks a million, you are so cute. Hmmm, well, let’s see. We have been living together for
over 2 years.
María : I am jealous of you. And your mom, who is living with her?
Julia : With my brother.
María : Cool! Today find Mr or Mrs RIGHT is very impossible but Any more surprises or novelties?
Julia : Yeah… by the end of July, we will have lived together in our own house there.
María : Where? In Canada?
Julia : Aha…
María : It’s awesome!! I will pray for you. Are you familiar with Canadian habits?
Julia : I think so, but never mind. I am capable of adapting easily. In short, by the end of August, we
will have been living together for over 3 months in Canada. Amazing, isn’t it? I do love my life.
María : Me, I am afraid of being alone.
