Women's Equality Day is celebrated in

the United States on August 26 to

commemorate the 1920 adoption of

the Nineteenth Amendment

(Amendment XIX) to the United States

Constitution.
1872-Susan B. Anthony went to the polls in

Rochester, NY, and cast a ballot in the

presidential election. She was arrested and fined

$100, which she refused to pay


The female vote in the United States is

as part of the fight for women's rights.
