1. Present Simple am/is/are + v3

We use bicycles in the city.  Bicycles (they) are used in the city. (by
us – by Elton John)

2. Past Simple was/were + v3

I bought a dog yesterday.  A dog was bought yesterday. (by me)

3. Future Simple will be + v3

We will give some ice cream to everybody. 

a. Some ice cream will be given to everybody.

((b. Everybody will be given some ice cream.))

4. Past Perfect Simple had been + v3 // Present Perfect have/has been

+ v3

Someone had seen a burglar [betörő] at the house, before we arrived.


A burglar had been seen at the house (by someone) before we arrived.

We are building our house.  Our house is being built (by us).

Past Continuous was / were being + v3

I was changing the baby.  The baby (he/she) was being changed (by me).

2. 2nd Conditional!!!

If + Past Simple (Egyszerű Múlt), would-os szerkezet  JELEN IDEJŰ

If I won the lottery, I would buy a big house. (Ha megnyerném a

lottót, vennék egy nagy házat.)

Ha lenne több pénzem, akkor körbeutaznám a világot.  If I had

more money, I would travel around the world.

3. 3rd Conditional

If + Past Perfect (“Régmúlt/ Múlt múltja”, had + V3), would have + V3

szerkezet  MÚLT IDEJŰ MONDATOK!
If I had had more money, I would have climbed the Mount Everest a
long time ago. (Ha nekem több pénzem lett volna, én megmásztam
volna a Mt. Everestet hosszú ideje.)

Ha nem mentem volna hozzá Mary-hez, akkor egy jobb életem lett
volna.  If I hadn’t / had not married Mary, I would have had a
better life.
