1. Why is Total Quality Management (TQM) important in operations management

-Total Quality Management ensures the quality of the product or service of the
business that equates to satisfaction of clients or customers. In that case, if customers
are continuously patronizing the business, it will be able to self-market the business in a
wider scope of new clients. On the other hand, if the clients are unsatisfied, total quality
management tackles as well how to cater the needs and suffice the shortcomings of the
business in order to regain the trust of the unsatisfied one to later on be satisfied.
Hence, total quality management are series of innate processes at ensures a business
with a long-term success.

2. In ensuring ethical and social responsibilities in business, what are some


challenges in operations that a company may face?

-some of its challenges are lawsuits and additional budget allocation. Some actions and
movements in attaining an ensured ethical and social responsibilities require budget
and people to work for it. Hence, resources are needed as well alongside with the main
agenda or purposely products or services offered by the business. Be reminded as well
in fulfilling social and ethical responsibilities, most of the time no income is generated
which is why it can be considered as a liability.
