Properties of Operations Project

For this project, either work alone or in a group of 2-3 and choose which
property/properties to create a presentation on (see table below). The presentation must take at
least 3 minutes showcasing the definition(s) of the property/properties you chose both literally
and in your own words as well as 2 real life examples of that property. To be graded, you must
do your presentation and hand in a physical/digital copy of your “scratchwork.” The scratchwork
must clearly state which property/properties you have as well as your work on the examples.

Addition Multiplication

Identity a+0=a ax1=a

Inverse a + (-a) = 0 a x (1/a) = 1

Commutative a+b=b+a axb=bxa

Associative (a + b) + c = (b + c) + a (a x b) x c = (b x c) x
a

Green = Easy. Group would do both and a blue. One example of each.
Blue = Moderate. Would do 2. Example for each.
Red = Hard. 2 examples...good luck.
