PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

HEAD OCC supervises and controls all flights, operational control functions and other associated
activities;

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

a) The safe and efficient scheduling of aircraft and crew in liaison with the HEAD
Maintenance, the HEAD Cabin Services and the HEAD Schedule & Network Planning, to
ensure that aircraft utilization, punctuality and maintenance needs are met;

b) Ensuring all operations staff are fully conversant with the Bristow Operations Manual and
Emergency Procedures Manual;

c) Monitoring and coordinating the activities of all other departments to achieve Bristow
punctuality and regularity targets, with due regard to Bristow's operational, maintenance and
security requirements;

d) In conjunction with the DIRECTOR FLIGHT OPS manage safety and security in flight
operations;

e) In conjunction with the DIRECTOR FLIGHT OPS, supervise and control all flights,
operational control functions and other associated activities;

f) In conjunction with the DIRECTOR FLIGHT OPS, comply with standards of Bristow and
requirements of CAA and other applicable authorities;

g) The selection of all operational support systems in liaison with the Chief Pilot and the
Operations Support Team;

h) Ensuring that all necessary diplomatic and over-flight clearances are obtained to fly the
commercial programmed;

i) Reviewing Journey Logs for reports that affect the OCC operations function and taking
action to rectify discrepancies as required;
j) Ensuring that any disruption to the flying programmed is dealt with in a calm and
professional manner with due regard to passenger welfare policy and cost effective
solutions;

k) ) Monitoring outstation performance to ensure adherence to Company procedures


highlighting concerns to the relevant Airport Manager;

l) Following up on air traffic routing problems and delay analysis, Journey/Technical Logs,
issues and responses to crew. Analysis of Journey Logs comments, seeking responses from
relevant departments and ensuring operational response to crew;

m) Daily posting and monitoring of network performance. Leading daily on time performance
meetings (OCC meetings) with service provider to review and correct any operational
problems. Optimizing the schedule to prevent recurrent delays;

n) Liaison with the engineering team and LH Tech to ensure that schedules are met and any
unplanned events are dealt with to produce a speedy solution to any problem;

o) Recruitment, training, rostering and discipline of OCC staff, as their Department Head;

p) Liaising with the aircraft / equipment manufacturers, handling agencies and regulatory
authorities relevant to operational control and that are involved with the provision of
services to, or whose service may affect Company operations

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

 Qualification/Education: A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline. , Flight Dispatch Licence


 Certificates in airport related functions desirable
 Experience: Extensive and proven experience in a similar role.
 Skills/Abilities: Effective written and oral communication skills, strong leadership and customer
service skills, proven analytical skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
 Personal Qualities: achievement drive, proactive, a team player, adaptable to different
situations.
 Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of airport operations, aviation rules and regulations,
understanding of cultural issues and requirement for professional development.

WORKING RELATIONSHIP:

Expected to interact with amongst others: CEO, Heads of Various Units, OCC Manager /
Supervisors/ Fueling Officers/ Maintenance Manager/ Manager of the Handling Agent/Airline
regulatory bodies
