STATEMENT STRATEGY &
BUSINESS PROBLEM
• Depending on data exploration and what
we can gather from it and take away will
help identify the species or kind of dog,
prevalent at the location. This will lead to a
higher number of adoptions and hopefully
decrease in animal shelters and animal
suffering.
 SUMMARY

• For my project I chose to research and explore a data set that

contains the overall statewide movement of dogs. Analyzing this
dataset can help us answer a lot of questions but for this project,
our problem statement is to analyze the characteristics and kinds
of dogs available at each location, which will eventually make it
easier for people who want to adopt a particular kind of species.
This will simplify the process of selection and will result in higher
number of adoptions
 DATA DESCRIPTION

• This data set can help us figure out the origin of these dogs, which can
be significant in analysis. Overall, if we consider this that the found
column indicates where these dogs were found, then we can see in the
summary that most of these animals were found in Texas (528) with
Texas being the origin for most dogs (301) as well, interestingly, dogs
with South Korean origin were the second most in number which tells us
that a lot of dogs up for adoption have origins from different countries
too.

• From this data we can see that
overall Pitbull's are the most found
breed in the US.
PREDICTIVE MODELING/BUSINESS STRATEGY

• Based on prior observation of this data set I found out that larger cities has
the highest number of dogs than any other place. New York had 4,002
available dogs for adoption, which makes sense due to the the larger
populations in cities.
CONCLUSION

• In conclusion the amount of information that I was able to find out about dogs
was shocking. This dataset allowed me to find the state with the most diverse
breeds to which the state has the friendliest dogs. Information like this is so
helpful to adopters and can really help the over population of homeless dogs.
