History of Islam
Islam is an Ambrahamic monotheistic
religion teaching that there is only one
God and the Muhammad is a messenger
of God. It is the world's second-largest
religion with 1.9 billion followers 24.5%
of the world’s population, known as
Muslims. Muslims believe that God is the
creator of all things, and that God is all-
knowing and all-powerful. God has no
offspring, no gender, no race, no body.

History of Christianity
Chirstianity is the most widely practiced religion throughout the world, with more than 2
billion followers. The Christain faith centers on beliefs regarding the birth, life, death and
resurrection of Jesus Christ. Christanity started with a small group. Christains are
monotheistic which believes they believe in one God who created the heavens and earth.

Isalm Prayer
To begin the act of prayer, Muslims say the ‘Allahu Akbar’ meaning God is
great, raising the hands to the ears or shoulder. Muslims place their right
hand over their left on their cbest or navel while in the standing position.
As a Muslim prayer is used to comfort and put ones mind at peace.
Muslims pray to provide answers to their problems and conflicts they are
facing. (Hussian, 2019)
Christinaity Prayer
In Christnainty prayer is a conversation with God. There are many different
kinds of prayer, including: adoration- praising God for his greatness and
admitting dependence on him. Confession-owing up to sin and asking for God’s
mercy and forgiveness.

Christains tend to believe that pray deepens a person's faith. Praying can help
the believer come to a greater understanding of God’s purpose for their lives.

The Understanding of Jesus Through Prayer
Muslims believe that Jesus was a prophet of
God and was born to a virgin (Mary). They
also believe he will return to Earth before the
Day of Judgement to restore justice and defeat
the Antichrist. (Saritoprak,2017)

Christans believe that Jesus is the son of God


and the Messiah and the second person of the
Trinity. (Pelikan,2020)
A Different View of Holy Books Used for Prayer
The Qur’an is the sacred scripture of Islam. Muslims believe that the Qur’an is God’s
final revelation to humankind.(BBC, 2014)

The main scriptures of Christianaity is the Christain Bible, its has two sections the Old
testament and the New testament. The old testament is the original Hibrew Bible, the
sacred scriptures of the Jewish Faith. The New testament is written by Christians in the
first century AD.(BBC, 2011)
Types of Prayer in Christianty
In Christainyt there is more than just one type of prayer including: adoration, confession,
thanksgiving, petition, and intercession. Adoration is the way Christians praise God for his
greatness, confession is owing up to sin, thanksgiving is thanking God for his many
blessings, petition is asking God for something for example healing or health. Lastly
intercession, which is asking God to help others who need it. (Hamman, 2020)
Types of prayer in Islam
In Islam there are five types of prayer. The five different prayers are said at
five different times of a day. Fajar is said at dawn, Dhuhr is the early
afternoon prayer, Asr is said during the late afternoon, Maghrib at sunset
and lastly, the Isaha’a prayer which is said at night. (Hussain,2019)
Different View of Sin
Christains believe that every human is born with original sin. Muslims
on the other hand believe that we are born with a clean slate
(Hammond, 2020)

“The Original sin concept is not fair.. Because no one should be made
to bear the burden of someone else’s sin or mistake.”
