Provision of Integrated WASH and Shelter

assistance to IDPs and their most vulnerable WASH and Shelter
hosting communities at Jehaf , Juban, Damt and
Al-Hushaa districts of Al-Dhale Gov.

MINIMUM LIFE’S
PRINCIPLES
“Many living requirements and needs are missing on our life’s. Sometimes
we stay for days with no food for my children and wife, especially during the
pandemic when it became hard to go out and look for a living.” Adnan said.

Adnan is a displaced household who had to flee with his wife, 6 kids and his elderly mother. Adnan and his
family relay on the food they got from humanitarian assistance, besides, he collects plastic bottles as a source
of income, even though, the money he makes doesn’t cover his family basic needs. Adnan and his family
have been living in a small tent since they fled. The tent got worn out really fast because of the strong winds
and heavy rains which led them to suffer from leaking, cold weather and sun heat. As Adnan was struggling
to keep his home standing, his kids were also fighting to get water. Since the only close water source is 30
minutes waking, they get the water from an abandoned well in which the water is non-potable, contaminated
and may cause diseases. However, it’s the only nearby free source of water.

“my kids bring the water after school every day which takes them around 15-30 minutes to
bring water because we have neither a vehicle nor an animal to carry the water.”
Funded by (YHF), YFCA intervention in this district was by providing non-food items and emergency shelter kits for IDPs
and the most vulnerable host communities. After registration and verification, YFCA team distributed 380 (NFIs), 180
(ESKs) to the most vulnerable IDPs cases at Juban, Damt, and Al-Hushaa districts in Al-Dhale’e Gov.
