HYDROELECTRIC POWER STATION

How does Hydroelectric Power Station work?

Water supply from the river is the main intake of dam reservoir. The intakes open in the day and close at night.
When the intakes open, the water flows to the power station.
Power station consists of generator which is operated by reversible turbines. As the water flows to the power
station, the reversible turbines automatically operates the generator.
The force of waterflow drives the propeller and causes the turbines to rotate. Water turbines are mostly like
windmills.
By replacing the function of pushing the wind to turn the blades, it is replaced by the waterflow to turn the
turbines.
Furthermore, the turbines will convert he potential energy caused by the waterflow force into kinetics energy.
The turbines are connected to the generator. When the turbines rotate, the generator will also rotate. The
generator takes advantages of the turbines rotation to rotate the magnetic coil inside the generator so that there
is a movement of electrons which generate electrical current.
And then, the electrical currents will be distributed by transmission line to the consumen such as office, industries,
houseliving, etc.

I agree with the statement that Some people say that music is a good way of bringing people of different cultures
and ages together.

Music can help us connect, cooperate and care for each other. Most of people in the world like music. Music is
inextricably linked with the context in which it is produced, consumed and taught and the inter-relationship
between music and culture has been researched for many decades. Seminal research in the field of
ethnomusicology has explored how cultural customs influence music practices in macro and micro ways. Music,
for example, can be a core feature of social celebrations such as weddings to a means of cultural expression and
maintenance through ceremony. It is this meaning that can alter across contexts and therefore reflected in the
ways music and sound is manipulated or constructed to form larger works with different purposes. Whether to
entertain or play a crucial role in ceremonial rituals music practices cannot be separated from the environment in
which it exists.

Music is also influences how we think others will get along. Music somehow strengthens our perception of social
cohesion among people, perhaps through mistaking our own feelings for those of the people we observe.
Music works a lot like language does—except instead of words and ideas, emotions and intent are
communicated. In this way, music, like language, can be passed on from generation to generation, creating a
sense of continuity and loyalty to one’s tribe.

Human likes music since they can hear sounds since they were a baby. A crying baby can just stop crying while
his/ her parents sings a song for him/ her. Also the old age, they like listen to the music to relaxing their body and
mind. Different ages maybe like a different genre of music but there’s some kind of music that mostly liked by all
ages.

However, bringing people of different ages together maybe out of control of music. Actually, generation gaps
cause many people have distinctive tastes in music. By way of illustration, the juvenile people have preference in
vibrant kinds of music as pop, rock, electrical dance music whilst the elderly prefer to classical or soothing music.
Moreover, the difference of lifestyle is the pivotal reason for this. The old have taste in songs contain insightful
and thoughtful lyrics without superficial meanings, which are not likely to apply to the young with an active and
happy-go-lucky lifestyle.

Although most people have their own preference on the type of music that they enjoy listening to, each culture
can agree that the tunes are an important part of life with expressing ourselves as human beings. By appreciating
the art form, it makes it easy to unite and relate to others who are different than ourselves. This suggests that, if
we want to have a more harmonious society, we would do well to continue to include music in our and our
children’s lives.
