Neuroaudiology is the specialized branch of Audiology that deals with the structure, function and disorders of
auditory neural pathway and the allied neural network. The scope of this specialty is interdisciplinary. Knowledge
in this area can be utilized to identify space occupying lesions as well as diffused lesions of the auditory and
associated neural pathways. It can be used to study processing of auditory signal, in persons who hear normally
as well as a wide range of clinical population. It is also useful in evaluating plasticity in the auditory neural
system. The focus of the programme is on imparting research and clinical skills regarding the auditory and
vestibular system. The programme also imparts knowledge and skills necessary to carry out research pertaining
to the area.

Admission Eligibility

1. Admission is open to the candidates who have passed B.Sc. (Sp. & Hg.) / BASLP / B.ASLP or equivalent
from any other recognized university
2. Those with the above qualification, working in the electrophysiological lab or sponsored / deputed from
any hospital, medical college or institution would be given an additional weightage of 2%.
3. No upper age limit is applicable.

Mode of Selection

 The eligible applicants shall be short-listed in order of merit which is decided based on the percentage
of marks obtained in the qualifying examination (i.e., total marks obtained / total marks allotted x 100).
 The admissions shall be in accordance with the merit-cum-reservation policy of the Central
Government. Selection is all India based.
 Candidates who are short-listed based on the merit-cum-reservation will undergo an interview.
 The final selection will be based on the discretion of the Director, All India Institute of Speech & Hearing,
Manasagangothri, Mysuru.

Note: From within the available seats, one seat is allotted to an eligible candidate with Physical Disability
(Orthopaedic), as defined by the RPWD Act. In case, the seat is not filled by a candidate with physical
disability, it would be filled by a candidate from the general category.

Stipend:

Students of this programme will be given a stipend of Rs.500/- per month for 10 months.
Evaluation procedure:

In keeping with the requirement of the University of Mysore, the programme will be conducted following a choice
based credit system (CBCS) having a continuous assessment grade point (CAGP) format.

Fees for P.G. Diploma in Neuro-Audiology

A fee of Rs.12,805/- shall be collected once in the beginning of the programme. This will be all inclusive except
examination and hostel fee. If the candidate does not complete the programme within the scheduled time frame,
he/she has to pay the additional fee of Rs.3,090/- per extra semester. In addition, the fee prescribed by
University of Mysore has to be paid.
