My Classroom - To use drawing tools (rectangle, line, polygon) to

create a bird’s eye view of your future classroom

During this project, I struggled with making the door. Just this one aspect got
frustrating because I struggled with making an open space with the border of my
classroom. However, I did add a line to make an angle for the opening of the door as
well as the required curve to show the opening. I do realize now, I should’ve made the
border of my classroom with the line feature rather than using a rectangle. I did
appreciate the duplicate feature that my software had, it made it easier to keep all the
desks and chairs the same dimension. I also used the line feature to indicate where my
windows were in the classroom. In my actual classroom, however, I would like to have
teams rather than individual desks, but I wanted to ensure that you can see all twenty
desks and names. The text feature was also easy to use, especially with the duplicate
feature to keep all the names the same size as well.

Standard 1.6.a - Students choose the appropriate platforms and tools for meeting the
desired objectives of their creation or communication.

This project would be a good leeway into a book display project. For example, during
reading activities, the class can read one book and expand on main ideas and
supporting details. It can also go into cause and effect problems. However, the big
focus would be details and there could be a project where students have to create their
favorite setting in the classbook. This project can go for many different grade levels
because I did one similar in the second grade. It can even be broken down into group
projects where groups choose a book from a designated list and their team has to
create the overall setting of the book as well as characters. Features similar to this
project would be great to share with their group on the design as well as list what kind
of material each aspect could be or who is in charge of making what.
