This project contained very tedious aspects. Little details like making the barcode lines,
nutrition label, and designing the overall can decorations were complicated. It began to
get easier to make the barcode when I made numerous lines of different sizes and
duplicated them in random order to form a barcode. I also created my own label using
a separate font website that had more options than the software I was using. Another
thing that was complicated was the nutrition label because it was hard to come up with
little nutrition facts, however, I do think the ones I did were a bit funny. I had to use
various sizes for lines, different shapes, and different measurement tools to create the
can that I had in my head.
This project can be expanded in numerous ways to numerous grade levels. I do see
middle school geography class use this project to describe different countries or cities.
I also see history classes do a similar project with things like Native American Tribes
and describing their populations along with other numeric information. I can also see
high school students use this as an additional part of possible reading projects. High
school students could use the nutrition label for describing the genre of the books they
were assigned as well as do little funny things like how many deaths were in the book
or how many times a certain character said a phrase.
