Web Launchpad

The Web Launchpad consists of learning about an active Volcano. The magma is located

at the bottom layer moving up to the igneous rock layer. Where a perfectly big mountain sits, the

volcano is releasing ash clouds into the sky as it erupts. There are also different openings where

the lava can escape.

Throughout the Web Launchpad, I was able to learn how to hyperlink websites and

change the name so it's not just a URL but a title. I also learned that I can’t just add pictures to

word because if I want them to be the background it does not stretch. So when I wanted to add a

picture I would need to add a shape and autofill the shape with a picture, that was the only way I

was able to move the picture around. Shapes have become very useful. You’re able to use them

for almost everything and it makes the process so much easier. An issue I did face was when

changing the font of the hyperlink I kept accidentally clicking the hyperlink taking me to the

website every time.

National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers (NETS)•T Addressed was

Designer, Design authentic learning activities that align with content area standards and use

digital tools and resources to maximize active deep learning.

I can see this project being used for individual work. For group research but instead of

the second-grade students having to go on different websites and being confused as to what they

are looking for. The websites will already be there on the Web Launchpad. All they would need

to do is follow the title they feel the answer will be in and do a bit of reading to find the answer

they need. This will make it easier and kid-friendly to keep students away from unrelated
websites. By then all skills needed will have already been learned making it easier to apply this

in making the assignment.
