REFLECTING ON THE FUTURE ‘Temporary sacrifice is easier when witnessed by others, and so reflecting on it can be a useful class activity. We could even reflect on how our future self might view our sacrifices. A Future Thank you Ask students what they would prefer to be doing now rather than being in class. They might suggest playing football or video games. Now have them write a thank-you letter from their future self to their present self, thanking them for their sacrifice. Have students read each other's letters.
