THE ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT
Greater collaboration between universities and industry has long been in discussion in India. In the recently concluded Akhil
Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam in Varanasi, it was discussed at length, stressing that to move towards a knowledge-based
superpower, making universities multidisciplinary and also a centre of excellence, it is essential to provide space to industries
in campus to establish research and development centres, which invariably pave way for start-ups and greater collaborations.
Under the NEP, universities would be encouraged to establish their ventures, making education imparted in universities being
based majorly on application and practical experience. This process would for sure make the students more employable, as
their skills and knowledge would be more relevant to the emerging job prospects and opportunities. Indian industry has long
been complaining about the students being bereft of practical aspect of the things, hence rendered unemployable.
Several top companies like Google, Facebook, Bose, Qualcomm and many others have borne out of the university campuses.
Moreover, the tech companies that begin in university campuses also leverage years of research and bright talents, who then
spur a culture and series of innovations. However, a common complaint in Indian context is that here universities don’t
promote such creativity, innovation and inventiveness, while they do excel when it comes to academic rigour. It’s really a pity
that in absence of conducive ambience to follow a dream of having a venture of their home, many bright students coming out
of IITs and IIMs like institutions end up working for MNCs for plush paying jobs. Otherwise, they could be helped
sufficiently to become entrepreneurs and innovators and create jobs and wealth for themselves and the country. But now the
scene appears to be changing, especially with the advent of the New Education Policy (NEP) in place, the pace of
collaborations is expected to gain momentum.
In recent years, driven by the pragmatic approach of the government at the Centre, several universities have included
innovation in the curriculum and entrepreneurship being taught in commerce, management and engineering courses. Now
several colleges and universities have their entrepreneurship cells also. To power this nascent trend of entrepreneurship in the
country, the Government of India launched the Atal Innovation Centres, which provide managed workspace for the startups to
operate. A few top institutions like the Indian Institute of Science, a few IITs and Central Food Technological Research and
Institute among others have their dedicated IP licensing centres to make their R&D available for the market.
Moreover, the government has sanctioned establishment of research parks in IITs in Madras, Bombay, Kharagpur, Kanpur,
Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Gandhinagar and IISc Bangalore to augment the research ecosystem in the country to enable the
students to pursue their R&D interests in India, through innovative research. Incubation centres (ICs) at educational
institutions seek to nurture technology and knowledge based ventures through their start-up phase by providing the necessary
support to help entrepreneurs survive in the competitive market and reach a stage where they can scale-up their ventures
further. Various schemes such as Uchchatar Avishkar Yojana (UAY), Impacting Research Innovation and Technology
(IMPRINT), Impactful Policy Research in Social Science (IMPRESS), Scheme for Trans-Disciplinary Research for India’s
Developing Economy (STRIDE), Scheme for promotion of Research and Academic Collaboration (SPARC), National
Initiative for Design Innovation (NIDI), Scheme for Transformational and Advanced Research in Sciences (STARS) etc. are
also being implemented by the Ministry of Education for promotion of research ecosystem of country’s higher education
institutes. The government also implements Global Initiative for Academic Network (GIAN) which seeks to tap the talent
pool of scientists and entrepreneurs from abroad, including those of Indian origin to augment the country’s existing academic
resources. In this way, leveraging educational institutions for the entrepreneurial efforts can prove to be a win-win situation
for both Industry and universities.

भारत के यूनिकॉर्न स्टार्टअप की यात्रा जारी

बीते 8 साल में स्टार्टअप की दुनिया में भारत ने नया मुकाम हासिल किया है। देश आज जिस मुकाम पर पहुंचा है उसका
श्रेय पीएम मोदी के नेतृत्व में बनी कें द्र सरकार को जाता है। याद हो वर्ष 2015 में लाल किले से पीएम मोदी ने ‘स्टार्ट अप
इंडिया’ का जो का नारा दिया था आज वह सार्थक साबित हो रहा है।
कें द्र सरकार के प्रयासों से युवा पीढ़ी में जागी अलख

पीएम मोदी के वक्तव्य से देश की युवा पीढ़ी में एक अलख जगी और फिर देखते ही देखते स्टार्टअप का कारवां बनता
चला गया। पीएम मोदी के प्रधानमंत्री बनने से पूर्व देश में महज 300 से 400 स्टार्टअप हुआ करते थे लेकिन सत्ता में
उनकी सरकार आने के पश्चात महज 8 वर्षों के कार्यकाल में 70 हजार स्टार्टअप देश में तैयार हुए।
भारत ने यूनिकॉर्न स्टार्टअप की संख्या में लगाया शतक

वाकयी पीएम मोदी के नेतृत्व में स्टार्टअप की दुनिया में भारत ने एक नया मुकाम हासिल कर लिया है।
भारत में यूनिकॉर्न स्टार्टअप की संख्या बढ़कर अब पूरी 100 हो गई है, इसलिए कहा जा सकता है कि भारत
यूनिकॉर्न स्टार्टअप की संख्या में शतक जड़ चुका है।
अब नहीं थमने वाली

दुनिया का तीसरा भारत के यूनिकॉर्न
सबसे बड़ा स्टार्टअप स्टार्टअप की यात्रा
इकोसिस्टम ऐसे में भारत के इन यूनिकॉर्न स्टार्टअप की यात्रा अब
आज भारत के पास दुनिया का तीसरा सबसे बड़ा स्टार्टअप थमने वाली नहीं है। स्टार्टअप इंडिया के जरिए देश के
इकोसिस्टम है। पीएम मोदी के नेतृत्व में सरकार ने नियंत्रक के युवाओं को जॉब सीकर से जॉब क्रिएटर बनाया गया।
बजाय स्टार्टअप्स के लिए उत्प्रेरक का काम किया है। तभी यह युवाओं में जहां-जहां सरकारी नौकरी की मानसिकता
यात्रा आज 300 से 400 स्टार्टअप से शुरू होकर 640 से अधिक थी स्टार्टअप के जरिए उससे मुक्ति मिली है। पीएम
जिलों में करीब 70 हजार से अधिक स्टार्टअप तक पहुंची है। मोदी ने स्टार्टअप को विशेष प्राथमिकता दी है जिसका
यदि कें द्र की ओर से इस दिशा में ठोस प्रयास यूं ही जारी रहे तो असर यह हुआ कि आज कॉर्पोरेट सेक्टर की नौकरी
देश में और अधिक स्टार्टअप का पंजीकरण हो सकता है। छोड़कर युवा वर्ग स्टार्टअप का कार्य शुरू कर रहे हैं।

स्टार्टअप के लिए सरकार ने युवाओं को किया प्रोत्साहित
कें द्र सरकार के द्वारा स्टार्टअप के लिए युवाओं को प्रोत्साहित करने की दिशा में भी कई महत्वपूर्ण
कदम उठाए गए हैं। स्टार्टअप क्या चीज है और इसकी शक्ति क्या है, इसका सही आभास युवाओं को
कराना बहुत जरूरी हो गया था क्योंकि नौकरी के अभाव में देश का युवा बेरोजगारी के दलदल में
फं स रहा था। ऐसे में कें द्र सरकार ने युवाओं को वह हौसला दिया जिसकी उसे सही मायनों में जरूरत
थी। सरकार ने युवाओं को देश में अपना स्टार्टअप शुरू करने का प्रोत्साहन दिया। इसी कड़ी में आगे
चलकर संपर्क , सहयोग और उत्प्रेरक के आदर्श वाक्यों के साथ, सरकार द्वारा स्टार्टअप इनोवेशन
चुनौतियां, राष्ट्रीय स्टार्टअप पुरस्कार, राज्यों की रैंकिंग, एससीओ स्टार्टअप फोरम और प्रारंभ आदि
जैसी पहलों की शुरूआत की गई। इन सबसे देश में स्टार्टअप क्रांति को आगे बढ़ाने में बहुत मदद
मिली है। डीपीआईआईटी ने भारत में स्टार्टअप पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र में तकनीकि बदलाव लाने की
दिशा में बहुत कठिन परिश्रम किया है। सरकार का यह विभाग अपने खुले विचार, मुक्त हस्त और
खुले दिमाग के साथ, अभिनव गतिविधियों में युवाओं की भागीदारी के स्तर को बड़े पैमाने पर
प्रोत्साहित करते हुए एक सहायता प्रदानकर्ता के रूप में काम कर रहा है।
स्टार्टअप के लिए गांवों की और सरकार का फोकस

आज भारत के द्वि-स्तरीय और त्रि-स्तरीय शहरों में भी एक मजबूत स्टार्टअप पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र का निर्माण करने की दिशा
में तेजी से काम जारी है। ये वो शहर हैं जो प्रायः आवश्यक धन से वंचित रह जाते हैं। ऐसे में विशेष रूप से ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों के
इनोवेटर्स को आगे ले जाने और इस योजना का लाभ उठाने के लिए सरकार उन्हें भी प्रोत्साहित करना चाहती हैं। यह बात
किसी से नहीं छु पी है कि असली आइडिया जेनरेशन जिसे हम देशी आइडिया या कई बार जुगाड़ का नाम भी देते हैं, गांव
की मिट्टी में ही जन्म लेता है। कें द्र सरकार भी इस बात से भलि-भांति परिचित है। यही कारण है कि सरकार ने ऐसे
स्टार्टअप को आगे ले जाने के लिए गांवों की ओर रुख किया है।
रोजगार की इच्छा रखने वालों से लेकर

नौकरी प्रदान करने वालों तक की
मानसिकता में आया बदलाव

देश में जारी स्टार्टअप क्रांति के बीच आज रोजगार की इच्छा रखने वालों से लेकर नौकरी प्रदान
करने वालों तक की मानसिकताओं में बदलाव आया है, जो कि नए भारत के लिए स्टार्टअप्स
को एक नए आधार बनाने की दिशा में सहायता प्रदान कर रहा है। इन सबके बीच ”स्टार्टअप
इंडिया सीड फं ड योजना” ने ऐसे विचारों और उनके कार्यान्वयन के बीच एक सेतु का काम
किया है। यह स्टार्टअप पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र में, एक स्वतंत्र और महत्वाकांक्षी विचारों वाली
उद्यमिता को प्रोत्साहित करने का काम करती है और एक ऐसी संस्कृ ति का निर्माण करने में
मदद करती है जो नवाचार को मान्यता प्रदान करे। इस प्रकार भारत के यूनिकॉर्न स्टार्टअप की
यात्रा आज भी निरंतर जारी है जो इसका उज्ज्वल भविष्य और आने वाला कल तय करेगी।

के उत्तम स्वास्थ्य के लिए
मिशन वात्सल्य योजना

भारत देश में जन्म लेने वाले नवजात और अल्प आयु वर्ग के बहुत से बच्चे ऐसे हैं, जो छोटी सी उम्र में ही मौत के शिकार हो जा रहे हैं।
ऐसे हालात तभी आ रहे हैं, जब उन बच्चों को पर्याप्त पोषण नहीं मिल रहा। उन तक पोषण वाला दूध नहीं मिल रहा या पोषण की कमी
है। ऐसा इसलिए हो रहा है क्योंकि कहीं न कहीं उनकी माता को ही उपयुक्त पोषण आहार नहीं मिल पाता। जब जननी या प्रसूता स्त्री स्वयं
कमजोर होगी, तो किस प्रकार जन्मे बच्चे के अच्छे स्वास्थ्य को सुनिश्चित करेगी। इसी स्थिति से निपटने के लिए सरकार मिशन वात्सल्य
योजना लेकर आई। कु छ जगहों पर इस योजना को मैत्री अमृत कोष भी कहा जाता है।
मिशन वात्सल्य योजना क्या है

मिशन वात्सल्य योजना यह सुनिश्चित करेगी कि भारत में जन्म लेने वाले बच्चों
की मृत्यु दर में कमी आए, साथ ही साथ स्तनपान को प्रोत्साहन मिले। साल
2022 में बजट पेश करने के दौरान वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण इस मिशन
को आगे ले जाने की प्रतिबद्धता दिखाई ताकि बच्चों को भी इसका फायदा
प्राप्त हो सके और महिलाएं भी लाभान्वित हो सकें । बाल विकास मंत्रालय
द्वारा योजना को तीन भागों में रखा गया है पहला मिशन पोषण 2.0 दूसरा
मिशन शक्ति और तीसरा भाग है मिशन वात्सल्य।
क्या है मिशन वात्सल्य योजना

कें द्र द्वारा प्रायोजित मिशन वात्सल्य योजना यानि बाल संरक्षण सेवा योजना महिला
एवं बाल विकास मंत्रालय द्वारा 2009-10 से बच्चों के कल्याण एवं पुनर्वास के लिए
शुरू की गई है। इसका लक्ष्य भारत के हर बच्चे के लिए एक स्वस्थ और खुशहाल
बचपन सुनिश्चित करना, उसे अपनी पूर्ण क्षमता पता लगाने का अवसर देना, उसके हर
क्षेत्र में विकास के लिए सहायता देना और साथ ही साथ पूर्ण विकास के लिए एक
संवेदनशील समर्थन देना है। यह योजना अंतिम उपाय के रूप में कठिन परिस्थितियों में
बच्चों की परिवार आधारित गैर संस्थागत देखभाल को बढ़ावा देता है।

शासन ने लिए महत्वपूर्ण निर्णय और उठाए
उपयुक्त कदम
इस योजना का संपूर्ण कार्यभार स्वास्थ्य और परिवार कल्याण मंत्रालय के ऊपर है। इसके अंतर्गत राजधानी दिल्ली में
नेशनल ह्यूमन मिल्क बैंक की स्थापना की गई है और महिलाओं को स्तनपान करवाने के लिए मोटिवेट किया जा रहा है।
इसी उद्देश्य के लिए मिशन वात्सल्य योजना के अंतर्गत ब्रेस्टफीडिंग कं सल्टेंसी सेंटर भी बनाए जा चुके हैं। हमें विश्वास है कि
योजना के कारण संतान मृत्यु दर में काफी कमी आएगी।
यह योजना शिशु और माता दोनों को सीधे रूप से लाभान्वित करेगी। साथ ही साथ जच्चा बच्चा दोनों को ही कु शल स्वास्थ्य की ओर
प्रेरित करेगी। हर परिवार या घर में बच्चों को अपने भविष्य का सहारा आधार समझता है। ऐसी में जब अल्पायु में ही बच्चा जीवन
छोड़ जाए, तो अत्यंत ही दयनीय स्थिति बनती है। सरकार सबके अच्छे स्वास्थ्य की दिशा में प्रयास के साथ साथ अब बच्चों और
महिलाओं पर भी विशेष ध्यान दे रही है। इसका एक प्रत्यक्ष उदाहरण वात्सल्य योजना भी है।
मिशन वात्सल्य के तहत किए जाने वाले कार्य

योजना के मुख्य कार्यों में संवैधानिक निकायों के कामकाज में सुधार, मजबूत सेवा,
संस्थागत देखभाल और सेवा के स्तर में वृद्धि, गैर संस्थागत समुदाय आधारित देखभाल
का प्रोत्साहन, आपात स्थिति में उपलब्धता, प्रशिक्षण एवं क्षमता निर्माण करना शामिल है।
कें द्र द्वारा प्रायोजित योजना को कें द्र तथा राज्य कें द्र शासित प्रदेशों की सरकारों के बीच
निर्धारित लागत बटवारा अनुपात के अनुरूप लागू किया जाना है। हाल ही में मंत्रालय ने
वर्ष 2022 23 के लिए इस संबंध में राज्य और कें द्र शासित प्रदेशों को अपने प्रस्ताव और
योजनाएं तैयार करने के लिए कहा है और संबंधी निर्देश भी जारी किए हैं। योजना के
नियम एक अप्रैल 2022 से लागू हैं। संबंधित दिशा-निर्देश को विस्तृत रूप से

विविधताओं से भरे देश भारत में कई ऐतिहासिक और सांस्कृ तिक ऐसे स्थल हैं, जो आज भी लोगों की जानकारी से दूर हैं या
बुनियादी सुविधाओं के अभाव में यात्री पहुंच नहीं पाते हैं। कई स्थल तो ऐसे हैं, जो प्रकृ ति के अनुपम छटा को समेटे हुए हैं।
लेकिन लोग वहां पहुंच नहीं पाते हैं। ऐसे में अब उन्हीं स्थलों की पहचान कर उनका संरक्षण और संवर्धन किया जा रहा है। कें द्र
सरकार ने इसके लिए प्रसाद योजना शुरू की है। आइए जानते हैं क्या है प्रसाद योजना और उसके लाभ…

क्या है प्रसाद योजना
तीर्थयात्रा कायाकल्प और आध्यात्मिक, विरासत के विकास का राष्ट्रीय मिशन (प्रसाद) एक कें द्रीय योजना है, जिसे पर्यटन
मंत्रालय द्वारा साल 2014-15 में शुरू किया गया था। यह पूरी तरह भारत सरकार द्वारा वित्तपोषित है, जिसका उद्देश्य तीर्थयात्रा
और विरासत स्थलों के एकीकृ त विकास से जुड़ा है।
इस योजना के उद्देश्य में बुनियादी ढांचे का विकास जैसे- प्रवेश स्थल (सड़क, रेल और जल परिवहन), आखिरी छोर तक
कनेक्टिविटी, पर्यटन की बुनियादी सुविधाएं जैसे सूचना कें द्र, एटीएम, मनी एक्सचेंज, पर्यावरण अनुकू ल परिवहन के साधन,
क्षेत्र में प्रकाश की सुविधा और नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा के स्रोत से रोशनी, पार्किंग, पीने का पानी, शौचालय, अमानती सामान घर,
प्रतीक्षालय, प्राथमिक चिकित्सा कें द्र, शिल्प बाजार, हाट, दुकानें, कै फे टेरिया, वर्षा आश्रय, दूरसंचार सुविधाएं, इंटरनेट,
कनेक्टिविटी आदि शामिल हैं।
प्रसाद योजना के
तीर्थयात्रा पर्यटन तहत शहर
पर फोकस योजना की शुरुआत में योजना के तहत 12 स्थलों का
चयन किया गया था, ये स्थल
कामाख्या (असम)
दरअसल, भारत हिन्दू, बौद्ध, जैन, सिख, और सूफीवाद की अमरावती (आंध्र प्रदेश)
तरह कई धर्मों का संगम है। वहीं उनके तीर्थस्थल भी हैं, द्वारका (गुजरात)
ऐसे में माना जाता है कि घरेलू पर्यटन का विकास काफी गया (बिहार)
हद तक तीर्थयात्रा पर्यटन पर निर्भर करता है, जोकि अमृतसर (पंजाब)
धार्मिक भावनाओं के द्वारा आंशिक रूप से या पूरी तरह से अजमेर (राजस्थान)
प्रेरित है। ऐसे में तीर्थयात्रा पर्यटन के लिए सबसे बड़ी
चुनौती इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर में सुधार लाना है। जिसमें प्रसाद पुरी (ओडिशा)
योजना का महत्वपूर्ण है। के दारनाथ (उत्तराखंड)
कांचीपुरम (तमिलनाडु)
वेलनकन्नी (तमिलनाडु)
वाराणसी (उत्तर प्रदेश)
मथुरा (उत्तर प्रदेश)
इन 12 स्थलों के अलावा प्रसाद योजना का दायरा और बढ़ा दिया गया है।योजना के तहत स्थलों की संख्या बढ़कर लगभग 41 हो
गयी है। बोद्ध तीर्थ यात्रा के लिए कु शीनगर के अलावा झारखंड स्थित देवघर समेत कई तीर्थ स्थलों का प्रसाद योजना के तहत
बुनियादी सुविधाओं का निर्माण कराया जा रहा है।
गौरतलब हो कि कोरोना की रफ्तार कम होने के बाद देश में घरेलू पर्यटन में बड़ी वृद्धि देखी जा रही है। दुर्गम इलाकों में
कनेक्टिविटी में सुधार तथा पर्यटन को बढ़ावा देने के लिए कई विकास कार्य तेज कर दिया गया है,जिससे आने वाले यात्रियों को
असुविधा न हो। बेहतर सुविधाएं मिलने से जहां पर्यटकों को सहुलियत होगी,वहीं रोजगार के भी अवसर बढ़ेंगे।

डिजिटल पोस्ट ऑफिस से
किसी भी वक्त डाक सेवाओं का
इस्तेमाल करना हुआ मुमकिन

चिट्ठियों की अनूठी दुनिया से शायद ही कोई व्यक्ति अछू ता रहा हो। कभी न कभी किसी न किसी रूप में कोई डाक पत्र
या चिट्ठी आपको अवश्य ही मिली होगी या फिर चिट्ठी भेजने के लिए डाक ऑफिस तो जरूर जाना पड़ा होगा। इसलिए
चिट्ठियों की इस दुनिया की उपयोगिता हमारे लिए आज भी बरकरार है। ले किन इन सबके बीच जो सबसे बड़ी समस्या
आ खड़ी होती है वो है पोस्ट ऑफिस का निर्धारित समय के लिए खुलना।
जी हां, पोस्ट ऑफिस के द्वार दिन में एक निर्धारित समय के लिए ही खुले होते हैं। यानि आप पोस्ट ऑफिस के निर्धारित
समय पर अपना काम कराने पहुंचे तो ठीक वरना आपका काम अधर में लटक जाता है या फिर अगले दिन ही आप
उस कार्य को करा पाते हैं। उसमें भी यदि बीच में कोई जीएच या सरकारी अवकाश पड़ गया तो डाक भेजने वाले व्यक्ति
के लिए और मुसीबत खड़ी हो जाती है।

पोस्ट ऑफिस अब 24X7 उपलब्ध
इन तमाम समस्याओं को मद्देनजर रखते हुए भारत सरकार ने ‘डिजिटल पोस्ट ऑफिस’ नामक एक नई व्यवस्था शुरू
की है। इस डिजिटल पोस्ट ऑफिस में किसी भी वक्त डाक सेवाओं का इस्तेमाल करना मुमकिन है। इसकी सबसे बड़ी
खासियत यह है कि यह सुविधा 24×7 आपकी सेवा में हाजिर रहेगी। यानि अब डाक भेजने का काम किसी निर्धारित
समय में नहीं बल्कि किसी भी समय आसानी से हो सकता है। इस सेवा के बारे में जानकर आप भी इसका लाभ उठा
सकते हैं।
ATM मशीन की तरह डाक सेवा की उपलब्धता

उल्ले खनीय है कि भारत सरकार के प्रयासों से ‘डिजिटल पोस्ट ऑफिस’ सेवा शुरू की गई है। जैसे एटीएम मशीन
देशभर में कहीं भी और कभी भी आपकी सेवा में उपलब्ध रहती है, वैसे ही डिजिटल पोस्ट ऑफिस मशीन भी आपके
लिए कहीं भी और कभी भी आपकी सेवा में उपलब्ध रहेगी। यहां जाकर आप किसी भी समय पोस्ट ऑफिस से जुड़ा
कार्य करा सकते हैं।

हैं। ऐसे में यदि कोई व्यक्ति अपने कामकाज से देर रात तक फ्री होता है और उसे डाकखाना जाना है तो वह इत्मिनान
से डिजिटल पोस्ट ऑफिस का दौरा कर सकता है। यहां बेफिक्र होकर आप अपना काम करा सकें गे।

आमतौर पर आपको पोस्ट ऑफिस में लं बी कतारों में खड़े रहकर काम कराना पड़ता है जिसमें कई बार काफी समय

In a Natural Farming Conclave held on 10 July 2022 Prime Minister Modi

expounded on the nation’s drive towards adopting Natural Farming for
sustainable agricultural practices. Taking note of the success of Surat in
connecting 75 farmers in every panchayat with natural farming, the Prime
Minister lauded Gujarat as leading India’s commitment to achieving the goals
of Amrit Kaal.
The conclave, organised in Surat, Gujarat, witnessed the participation of

thousands of farmers and all other stakeholders who have made the adoption
of Natural farming in Surat a success story. The Governor and Chief Minister
of Gujarat also attended the conclave on Natural Farming.

WHAT IS NATURAL FARMING?

Natural Farming is a chemical-free, traditional farming method. It is an
agroecology-based method presenting a diversified farming system,
integrating crops, trees and livestock with functional biodiversity.
In India, Natural farming is promoted as Bharatiya Prakritik Krishi Paddhati

Programme (BPKP) under the centrally sponsored scheme- Paramparagat
Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY). BPKP aims to promote traditional indigenous
practices that reduce externally purchased inputs. It is primarily based on on-
farm biomass recycling with major stress on biomass mulching, use of on-
farm cow dung-urine formulations; periodic soil aeration and exclusion of all
synthetic chemical inputs.
Speaking at the conclave PM Modi said that PKVY is providing

resources and training for traditional farming wherein 30 thousand
clusters have been created all over the country under the scheme for the
benefit of lakhs of farmers. Further, 10 lakh hectares will be covered
under the Scheme in future, the Prime Minister stated. In a big stride
toward sustainable agriculture, Natural farming has also been linked
with the Namami Gange project which has been taken up as a separate
campaign to create a natural farming corridor along the Ganga river.
WHAT IS THE SURAT MODEL OF

NATURAL FARMING?
“The basis of progress and speed of the country is the spirit of Sabka Prayas,” PM Modi said, reinstating
that the government has provided a centre stage to Gram Panchayats, giving them a key role in the
welfare projects for the poor and the deprived.
In March 2022 PM Modi exhorted at least 75 farmers in each village to adopt the natural way of farming.
Taking the leap, Surat District undertook a concerted and coordinated effort to sensitise and motivate
different stakeholders and institutions like farmer groups, elected representatives, village-taluka-district
committees, Agriculture Produce Marketing Committees (APMCs), Cooperatives, Banks etc, in the
district to help farmers in adoption of Natural Farming. Subsequently, at least 75 farmers were identified
in each Gram Panchayat and were motivated and trained to undertake Natural Farming. This resulted in
more than 40,000 farmers from over 550 panchayats taking up natural farming in a short span of time.
