Exceeding maximum ratings for operating and storage temperature will reduce expected life time or destroy the LED module. The temperature of the LED module must be measured at
the Tc point according to EN60598-1 in thermally settled conditions with a temperature sensor.

Thermal Protection
PrevaLED® Compact are thermally protected, when used in combination with an OSRAM
OPTOTRONIC® LED power supply with LEDset interface. The system behaviour is shown in Figure 2.

Wiring to OPTOTRONIC® LED power supplies with LEDset interface

 Multiple PrevaLED® Compact modules shall only be connected in series, never in parallel.
 For optimum cooling, a conducting layer needs to be applied between module and heat sink.
 Further recommendations for mounting can be found in the PrevaLED® Compact application guide.

Safety information
 Eccessive torque on the mounting screws may cause damage to the LED module.
 The LED module and all its components must not be mechanically stressed.
 The LED module shall be operated only in conjunction with short-circuit protected power supplies.
 The LED module (and power supplies) needs to be installed with regard to all applicable electrical
and safety standards.The installation should be carried out only by qualified personnel.
 Standard ESD precautions need to be taken, when installing the LED module.
 With regards to photobiological safety, PrevaLED® Compact LED module can be classified in the
Risk Group (RG) number 2, moderate risk according to EN 62471.
 The clearance and creepage distances are designed for working voltages up to 350 V DC (acc. EN
62031/EN 60598)

The modules are intended for operation with matching OPTOTRONIC® power supplies with LEDset interface

To further simplify the luminaire/installation approval, electronic control gear for LED modules should carry the CE mark and be
ENEC certified. In Europe the declarations of conformity must include the following standards:
CE: EC 61347-2-13, EN 55015, IEC 61547 and IEC 61000-3-2 - ENEC: 61347-2-13 (also IEC/EN 62384, if available).
Also check for the mark of an independent authorized certification institute.
