It's time for Palpatine to appear.

This is where the Death Star begins.

I see no better usage for this solution.

First i wana thank you and special thanks for a pretty beautiful butterfly little girl.
second i wana ask about size of u project and how u install the Transparent plastic sheet in the
Craft paper Box and the tablet to.
Thank you! She was happy to hear the comments.

The plastic sheet is held with just one tape as attached photo.
The reason I used only one piece of tape is to make it foldable.
So I need only little space when I don't use that.

thanks for u reply i was need this before thanks again kiss's for her.

Brilliant! A twist on John Pepper's Ghost…well done!!

Thanks!

Could also be used as a small teleprompter.

Good idea!

This isn’t a hologram, it’s Pepper’s Ghost.

will be updated

Hi, nice instructable, the procedure is clear, I like in particular the tip about the green screen!
However, this is not an hologram!
I can be a bit pedantic about this because I worked with holography and holograms.
Your projection is a version of the Pepper's Ghost, it is not a real 3D image (a real hologram is
really a tridimensional image: you can see the parallax!); anyway the Pepper's Ghost has its own
dignity, because it has an interesting history as one of the first "special effects" used in the
theatres, popularized by John Pepper in the XIX Century but already described by Giambattista
della Porta in the XVI Century. And now, you can have your own "ghost" on a smartphone:
amazing!
Hi, thank you for the comment!
I did not know the name "Pepper's Ghost", I just google it.
Well,,, it looks my one is "Pepper's Ghost" than "Hologram".
Let me update this contents (give me few days).
Thanks again.
You just wanted to make everyone look up 'pedantic', didn't you?

I agree with ClaudioP34, a hologram is a different beast.

I know the current fad is to call these "holograms" but they are not! Please at least put the word
"hologram" in quotes! A real hologram cannot be made from a 2 dimensional picture. There just
isn't enough information.
Indeed. It's more like a head-up display (like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automotive_head-
up_display ), but for that, this i'ble is ingenious!
This is fantastic! I was just wondering if filming your subject against a black background would
work just as well (since your final background was black)? I would love to try this!
Thank you!
Yes, black background will work.
If you use a black cloth as the background, try adjusting the contrast of the movie to make the
background blacker.
It is important to increase the contrast between the background and the subject.
