SCHOOL PROFILE

Basud Elementary School is one of the schools in Tabaco South District (District 5). Its
distance from the District Office is about 0.75 km. What makes this school different from others?

Basud Elementary School is an old school established in June 1968 with fourteen
classes house in rented buildings. Since it was an annex of Tabaco South Pilot Elementary,
parents and its nearby cities deemed it wise to send their young children to Basud Elementary
School for reasons of safety, since it was not necessary for their children to cross the national
road. Ever since the establishment of Basud Elementary School, it has always a big enrolment,
but for financial reasons it has to deny of its rented buildings.

Through the cooperative efforts of the PTA and the Barangay Council of Basud, a site
with an area of 2, 175 m2 was donated by Mr. Edmundo Kare in 1974, enough to house its big
enrolment.
In 1975, one RPUS Bayanihan and Marcos Type Building were constructed on the new
site to start classes. Because of its actual big enrolment, these buildings were insufficient. More
than 200 pupils were refused hence they were sent to nearby schools. So, was for this reason
that additional building like Bagong Lipunan, FVR and BOD Slab roofing were created in 1991,
1995 and in 1997 respectively.
