Instructions for Students who must comply with the


TSA’s Alien Flight Student Program

You have been provided this notice because it appears that you are a non-U.S. citizen seeking
flight training in the U.S. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Transportation
Security Administration (TSA) requires that as a prerequisite to flight training, non-US
citizens must provide fingerprints, biographical information, including full name, passport
and visa information and training specifics prior to beginning flight training.

Training can only commence following approval of your application, completion of


fingerprinting (can be done on your arrival) and a payment of $130 to AFSP.

Notes:
 Ground training can occur before final approval is received, but you may not begin the
simulator portion of the training until TSA Final Approval has been received.
 In the event your TSA approval is not approved you must be rescheduled for simulator
training at a later date.

The Following instructions pertain to Initial Type Rating Training Program candidates
only:

1. Visit the TSA website at https://fts.tsa.dhs.gov/home and create a new account (or
access your existing account)
a. In the top right of the screen click on Create New Student Account
b. Fill out and submit the brief application to create a new account. The TSA will then
provide you with a user ID and a password (sent to your personal e-mail
address).
c. Return to the website and enter your user ID and Password.

2. Complete Part 1 (Candidate Information):


a. Step 1: Basic Information
b. Step 2: Other Names
c. Step 3: Citizenship Information
d. Step 4: Document Information
i. Passport image must be scanned and uplinked to AFSP
ii. Visa and any other document information may be optionally entered
e. Step 5: Address Information
f. Step 6: Employment

3. Complete Part 2 (Request for Training):


a. Step 7: Training Details
i. For state, use: Florida
ii. For Provider Name, select Global One Training Group, LLC
iii. For Course ID #: B727 INITIAL
iv. For Student Identification #, leave blank
v. For Class Name pull down and select Category 1 or Category 2 Training
Event
vi. Enter the following for Class Name: B727 INITIAL
vii. For Aircraft Type, enter: B727
viii. For Estimated Start Date, use the date given by Global One Training
Group
ix. For the Estimated End Date, add 30 days to the Estimated Start Date
b. Step 8: Request Category
i. Select Category 1 or select Category 2 and check the first checkbox that
applies to you.

4. Submit your Application to the TSA.


a. Once the application review is complete click on the 'Validate and Submit
Application' icon and then select 'I agree' to the next three screens. The training
request will temporarily disappear from your Home Page and an automated
notice is sent to Global One Training Group for confirmation.
b. Acceptance will be completed by Global One Training Group after:
i. The course deposit is received, AND
ii. The signed Global One Training Group Training Services Agreement is
returned, AND

5. After Global One Training Group accepts, you will receive an email from TSA
(afsp.help@dhs.gov) indicating that Global One Training Group has confirmed your
request.

6. Make the $130 payment to AFSP by logging onto your account, clicking on the $ symbol,
and following the steps for credit card payment.

7. After payment, you will receive a confirmation email that your application is in process.
a. This email will include the 6-digit Training Request Number.
b. Your TSA account will also show this request number on your home page.
c. Be sure that the spam filter of your Internet Service Provider does not stop
this email address (afsp.help@dhs.gov).

8. TSA will provide periodic updates on the status of your application


a. if you have already provided TSA with fingerprints on a prior training event,
you will receive notification that those prints are being transferred to this new
request. (this step typically occurs 10 business days after your payment of the
$130 fee)

9. AFSP will provide you instructions for fingerprinting (this step typically occurs 10
business days after your payment of the $130 fee).
a. You will need to locate a finger printer by going to:
https://secure.natacs.aero/afsp/find_location.asp

10. Schedule fingerprinting

11. Pay Pre-enrollment Fingerprinting fee (may not be required in all cases)
a. Go to https://secure.natacs.aero/afsp/find_location.asp then select your desired
print office and click the 'Pre‐enroll' button following the steps for credit
card payment.

12. Complete fingerprinting

13. Receive confirmation of receipt of fingerprints


a. An email is sent to you from TSA confirming receipt of your fingerprints and
indicating
b. that the wait period has been initiated (Category Two ‐ 5 business days)

14. Receive final approval


a. You may begin simulator training after the 5 business-day wait period or upon
receipt of the Final Approval email.
