Describe the class: This is a fifth grade class that has both boys and girls.

Objective(s): Students will be able to understand and present Mexican culture by

researching and creating a powerpoint slide together.
Procedures: The teacher will read the book called “Mexico” on getepic.com. This will
take about 15-30 minutes to read to the class. Teacher will then group students in
groups of 4 and will provide each group a topic that they will research on. Once the
group is settled, the students will start researching the topic together and will create 1
powerpoint slide about the topic as a group. Once students are done with their
powerpoint slides, they will present their slide to the entire class.

Materials: chromebook or computer, pencil, paper, wifi, projector
Grouping Structures: Students will be separated into groups of 4. Each group will
have a specific task that they will work on. Ex: food, celebrations/beliefs, clothing,
famous Mexican people, art, etc.
Modification: Students will be able to use the internet and ask the teacher for guidance
if needed.
Assessment: Students will take a quiz based on Mexican culture. They will be quizzed
on famous Mexican food, famous Mexican people, celebrations and artwork.
