The Challenges I see Myself Facing as A New Counselor.

Beginning counselors face challenges when attending to clients due to a lack of

experience in the actual field. Despite qualifying for the job, there is a likelihood that new tricks

will be needed to help navigate through the process. As a first-year graduate, the two common

challenges I see myself facing as a beginner counselor are burnout resulting from emotional

baggage and differentiating between personal and professional conduct.

Burnouts as A Result of Emotional Baggage

Given that I am starting to attend to real clients, I expect to tend to their needs, which

means that I will have to forgo mine. Clients' needs will always come first, which means that I

will act professionally and offer help despite what I will be going through. At long last, my

stressors will compile since they have not been attended to, resulting in burnouts. Offering

counseling means giving help to help stabilize a situation. In as much help is needed from

counselors, it is vital that they also receive the same to help them deal with their problems. This

may not happen because, often, the client is the priority.

Differentiating Between Personal and Professional Conduct

It will be difficult for me to know when to be professional and when to get personal.

When handling a client, I am not supposed to get personal. However, some needs can tempt me

to give personal views and biases, yet it is not the right thing to do. Therefore, maintaining a

neutral perspective when attending to a situation is going to give me a challenge. It is not easy to

not have a personal view when dealing with a situation, especially if one is a beginner.
