 La palabra “hundred” se escribe en singular, indistintamente del número que la


precede.

100 = one hundred

200 = two hundred (not two hundreds)

600 = six hundred (not six hundreds)

 Lo mismo sucede con la palabra “thousand” (mil):

1.000 = one thousand

10.000 = ten thousand (not ten thousands)

31.000 = thirty-one thousand

100.000 = one hundred thousand

 La centena se une con la decena usando la palabra “and”:

364 = three hundred and sixty-four

1.781 = one thousand, seven hundred and eighty-one.

999.158 = nine hundred and ninety-nine thousand, one hundred and fifty eight

 Ordinal numbers: Los números ordinales se refieren a una posición en una serie.

1st = first 11th = eleventh 30th = thirtieth


2nd = second 12th = twelfth 40th = fortieth
3rd = third 13th = thirteenth 50th = fiftieth
4th = forth 14th = fourteenth 60th = sixtieth
5th = fifth 15th = fifteenth 70th = seventieth
6th = sixth 16th = sixteenth 80th = eightieth
