Answer the following questions below.

1. What is the difference between computer organization and computer architecture?

- Computer Architecture defines the characteristics of the system that are present in the
development or requirement of the logical operation of the program. It deals with the
user's perspective on the computer system's functionality. Computer Organizations can
study the fundamental hardware design and function of the computer as it contains the
active parts of the system such as the CPU, memory, and interconnections.

2. What is an ISA?
- An ISA known as the Instruction Set Architecture is a component of the computer's
abstract model that describes how the software operates the CPU. It shows the
connection between hardware and software describing how the processor works and
how it is done.

3. What is the importance of the Principle of Equivalence of Hardware and Software?

- The importance of the Principle of Equivalence of Hardware and Software is that it
contributes to the designs and configurations of the system and computers. Computers
are made up of two parts: the software and the hardware, whereas the hardware acts
as the body and program of the soul.

4. Name the three basic components of every computer?

- The three basic components of every computer are the Input Unit, Central Processing
Unit, and Output Unit.

5. What unit is typically used to measure the speed of a computer clock?

- Gigahertz or GHz is used to measure the number of cycles performed in the CPU's clock
speed. A "cycle" is a basic unit that helps explain the CPU's performance and speed as it
is essentially a pulse coordinated by an internal oscillator.

6. Name two types of computer memory.

- The two types of computer memory are the RAM, known as the Random Access
Memory, and the ROM, known as the Read-Only Memory.

7. What is the mission of the IEEE?

- The IEEE's mission is to promote technological innovation and excellence for the benefit
of humanity.

8. What is the full name of the organization that uses the initials ISO? Is ISO an acronym?
- The full name of ISO is International Organization for Standardization, as it is used as an
acronym.

9. ANSI is the acronym used by which organization?

- The ANSI, known as the American National Standards Institute, is a private, nonprofit
organization that does not set standards but sees developing the standards for a wide
range of industrial processes, goods, and services in every virtual industry within the
United States. It also seeks to ensure the regulations of the US that are in line with the
requirements that allow the US goods to be bought and utilized worldwide.

10. Who is known as the father of computing and why?

- Charles Babbage, an English mathematician and inventor, is best known as the father of
computing as he is credited with inventing the first automatic digital computer. He is
best known as the father of computing because he developed a purpose for his plans for
making a programmable computing machine known as the analytical engine.

11. Name two driving factors in the development of computers.

- The two driving factors within the development of computers are the Hardware Spaces
and the Von Neumann Architecture.

12. Name the characteristics present in a von Neumann architecture.

- The Von Neumann architecture consists of a single, shared memory for programs and
data, a single bus for memory access, an arithmetic unit, and a program control unit.
