Theme : Who We are?


My today’s presentation would consists of following terms
as we learned during our lessons about global
relationships:

1. Partition of Subcontinent.
2. Pakistan welfare associations.
First of all:
Partition of Subcontinent.
Timeline:
• In 1600 British East India Company wa
• s established.
• In 1757, Sarajuddullah lost his battle of
palasy.
Bengal was colonized by British East India
Company.
• In 1857, there was first battle of
Independency.
• In 1858, India Act power was transferred
to British.
• In 1885, the Indian National Congress
was founded by A.O Hume.
• Two Major groups of
Subcontinent.
Muslims. Hindus
Both of these groups had their own
Organizations.
1. All India National Congress ( Of Hindus)
2. All India Muslim League ( Of Muslims)
• The Leader of Muslim League was Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinaah.
• And the leader of India National Congress was Mahatma Ghandi.
Both of these organizations were to represent these two major groups.

• Mountbattern Plan

• Resettelment of refugees in India. (1947-1957)
• Resettlement of refugees in Pakistan. (1947-1957)

• Loss of sovereignty by Muslim Rulers.
• British policy of Divide and Rule.
• Rise of Radical Nationalism.
• Partition of Bengal
• Issue of Jammu Kashmir, Haide-abad, some other states.
Reasons for Partition
• While however, Indian National Congress was calling for Britian to
quit India. Muslim League passed a resolution in 1943, of Divide
and Rule.

• There were many reasons for Partition and birth of a new Homeland
for Muslims, such as Biased behavior of Hindu Rulers.

• All three parties the India National Congress, the Muslim League and
the British were responsible of this partition.

There are many welfare Associations in Pakistan.


Some can be listed as:

• Edhi foundation
• Shahid Afreedi Foundation (SAF)
• Aurat Foundation
• Dar-ul- Skun Foundation
• Chippa Foundation
Today I will explain about two major
welfare Associations of Pakistan.

1. Edhi Foundation
2. Shahid Afreedi Foundation (SAF).
Edhi Foundation:
Shahid Afridi Foundation (SAF)
• SAF is a non-profit organization founded in March 2014, by Pakistan International
cricketer Shahid Afridi.

• The organization aim to provide health, care education and sport facilities in Pakistan
and around the world.

• Shahid Afridi Foundation and Shahid Afridi in particular is an ambassador of polio
compaign in Pakistan.

• Charity is not new to Shahid Afridi as in the past he has been supporting many Global
charity organizations in UK, USA, UAE and in Pakistan.
