"Voter Education and Civic Engagement Among the Youth"

Voter education means providing citizens of a democracy with basic information

about participating in elections. Voter education is often provided by the state itself,
often through a national electoral commission, so it is therefore important that it is
politically non-partisan. Government departments that focus on voter education are
often highly scrutinized by a third party. In addition, there are various private institutions
whose mission it is to strengthen democratic values by increasing voter education. The
focus is often on how to vote rather than who to vote for. An appropriate voter education
would provide citizens with knowledge regarding.

According to Jose Rizal “Ang kabataan and Pag-asa ng ating Bayan”. The youth
of today are the inheritors of the land of tomorrow. Now, in the face of several present-
day difficulties, they're banding together, educating themselves, and pushing to be
heard. The youth seem to be growing more determined to have a say in their
future. Participation to election is right of every Filipino Citizen specially the youths. It is
written on the 1987 Constitution Article V Section 1. “The youth of today are the
inheritors of the land of tomorrow. Now, in the face of several present-day difficulties,
they're banding together, educating themselves, and pushing to be heard. The youth
seems to be growing more determined to have a say in their future. “

Recognizing the role of the youth in shaping the country’s future, the Department
of Education (DepEd) spearheaded the campaign “Pulse of the Youth: National Voter
Registration Campaign for the 2022 Elections” to provide information on how to register
for the upcoming elections. According to Sec. Briones “ It is important that we hear the
voice of our youth, nurture and develop their critical thinking about national affairs, and
remind and teach them to practice their right to suffrage.” With the strong support of the
department the voter turnout of youth during election will be uplifted.
