Course description: This course is designed for students to practice community health nursing for the individual, family and
groups at both urban and rural settings by using concepts and principles of health and community health nursing

Specific objectives: At the end of the course student will be able to:
1. define concepts, scope, principles, and historical development of community health and community health nursing.
2. describe health plans, policies, various health committees, and health problems in India.
3. describe the system of delivery of community health services in the rural and urban list.
4. list the functions of various levels and their staffing pattern.
5. explain the components of health services.
6. describe an alternative system of health promotion and health maintenance.
7. describe the chain of referral systems.
8. describe community health nursing approaches and concepts.
9. describe the roles and responsibilities of community health nursing personnel.
10. describe and appreciate the activities of community health nurses in assisting individuals and groups to promote and maintain their
health.
11. describe national health and family welfare programs and the role of nurses.
12. describe the various health schemes in India.
13. explain the roles and functions of various national and international health agencies.
