" Media Literacy in Action” involves 36


participants from Malta, Georgia, Greece,
Croatia, Armenia and Czech Republic in an
open process of discussing, analyzing and
debating on media literacy skills, how to
consume media wisely, analyze media
messages, test reliability, develop critical
thinking and gave them knowledge and skills
to implement new activities and new
approaches in order to promote media
literacy among a wider audience.

Media literacy in action

Objectives:

1. To develop critical thinking skills;

2. To understand how media messages, shape our culture & society, one’s own beliefs about the real
world;

3. To recognize what the media maker wants us to believe or do;

4. To recognize misinformation & lies;

5. To discover the parts of the story that are not being told;

6. To evaluate media messages based on own experiences, skills, beliefs, and values;

7. To enhance international communication of young people;

8. To promote media Literacy and Erasmus+.

THE VENUE AND ACCOMODATION

Youth Exchange is organized in Kobuleti

Address: Hotel “Z13” Kobuleti, Aghmashenebeli str. 644a

The participants will be accommodated in the rooms with 2-3 beds, the toilets, air- conditioners
and shower- baths are in all rooms of the hotel. Towels, bed-linen is provided.
Travel

The participants should:


Arrive on the 1st of October
Depart on the 10th of October 2022.

It is possible to reach Kobuleti through 3 airports:


Tbilisi International Airport, Kutaisi airport and Batumi airport.

“Youth Center of Georgia” will assist the local transportation from the
airports to the venue and back.

PLEASE: Before booking your flights, provide details of your travel plans

to us for verification and approval.

NOTE! You can arrive in Georgia 2-3 days earlier to see around or travel a bit.
However, this should be done at your own expense.
Media literacy in action

INSURANCE

Each participant must have health insurance. In any case, please remember health
insurance, as well as travel insurance, is your responsibility. So don’t forget to check &
bring your insurance card with you.

Food

The breakfast, lunch, dinner and coffee break will be provided at the hotel. The
participants should inform us forward about their dietary (vegetarian, don’t eat pork,
etc.) or any specific needs.

CURRENCY AND FINANCIAL CONDITIONS


Currency in Georgia: Lari (GEL), 1 Lari = 100 Tetri
Exchange rate is approximately (today): 1 USD = 2.9 GEL 1 EURO = 3.1 GEL
None of the currencies will be accepted in the trade centers, cafes, pubs, and restaurants
or by Taxi except for GEL. Exchange of money is accessible at the airport, also in Kobuleti.
Each country has to have at least one
laptop with them to use during the
cultural nights and activities.

For the cultural night's participants


should prepare presentations about
their country, city, or traditional
dances. Also, participants should
bring traditional foods for the
cultural night. You should bring food
and drink for the cultural night.
